  • More teams?

There appears to be a small push towards having the game be all-human teams. No AI, just 8 human teams.

This opens an intriguing possibility, what if we split, maybe stage a public fight claiming unreconcilable differences.

Then, instead of a secret alliance, we could secretly control two teams. Attack and destroy from two different directions.

If we did this I would suggest another Oriental civ in case we started in culturally linked positions or perhaps a civ with a later era UU. The first assault by the Chinese and the later assault by the secondary civ.

(See, this is what happens when no games are being played. I start thinking and plotting. We need to get this game going pronto! )

I hadn't seen this push, personally.

While this is inherantly interesting, how would it not become transparent, though? Would it not become obvious if we split down the middle? And how would we gain new members without them spilling this information should they not like it?

    Beyond that:

'This teams obvious lack of morals or any form of honor have brought me to question my very involvement. What 'Glory' is there if we cannot agree to at least some form of civility? I hereby renounce this team and their ideals in favor of a more honorable, yet still warlike, team that will take their actions into account and hold honor above all else!'

    How's that?

It will work if we chose two very different names, such as the Glory of War, and say, the Splendor of Conflict.

What lack of morals? Have you never heard of Survivor. All the winners were apart of pacts from the beginning. Working together insures a better chance of survival there is nothing unethical about it.

Now playing ahead, etc is an extreme no-no. I would leave at that point myself.

I was giving an example of a public fight, not actually saying that...

Anyone feel we could influence one of the two teams and mold them into our needs?

I think the roleplay team would enjoy being a vassal state. Ever since I mentioned I might get booted out there have been several teams trying to recruit me...

Seriously, I half way thought about stating that the GoW kicked me out for lack of Honor and attempting to start a Mercenary team that doesn't try to win, just affect the other teams and would hire out to any of the other human civs to attack anyone else if the money was right.

                Kinda like the Hessians.

I was thinking of that too, actually. A mercenary squad would be pretty fun. Anything for the right $...

Maybe we can make the GoW be that. It fits in with our philosophy. Let GS have the rep for being the world conquest warmongers, we are simple mercenaries that will assist the other teams against their enemies for the right $ amount.

Then at the end we turn World Conquest on them.......

If everyone can view us as a potential military asset to augment their own forces then they will concentrate on taking out others and plan to use us as auxiliary.

We simply siphon a little off everybody and combine it for our own purposes.

Good idea, we can be called in"for a price ". pillage kill, the usual take cities that can produce and an occasional wonder. Our price could be the techs to allow the attack. For example we'll promise civ a to devote all production to riders) in exchange for chivarly and another tech. In return we'll give them a military.

I concur. a Merc role would be very beneficial, but let us not get typecast into it, we must keep an agenda secret from our "employers", and we should neccessarily take merc jobs that go against the general flow of our plans.
