Thats what I'm talking about: We're the Glory of War, not the Glory of Building Nice Wonders so That Other Civs Can Come and Take Them From Us.

well whoever else builds it, it doesn't need to be build on our side of the planet.. btw just because we are the glory of war team, that doesn't need to mean we cant build a wonder.. and if we build it, we wont need to spend so much money on science, instead we can get a nice turn income..

Speaking of spending cash, we should consider spending as much as possilbe to research early, for multi player games, trading is rather diminished. I say max research through bronze and the wheel, then pull back the slider and save cash for the 40 turns to horseback for upgrading those chariots.

Yes, I have had many an archer rush work (though never to the degree of the demo game), but I generally tend to pass them up. I have found it far more appealing to have more horses around later, than a few cities that early and outdated units running around. I have used far more swordsmen in PTW as well, but tend to stick to the horses still.

Typical strategy for me, is try to locate first city with food bonus (wheat, cattle, or game adjacent to city site). Second city goes in a location for high production.

First city puts out settlers and workers, second city starts building a wonder, if someone beats me to a specific wonder I just switch to Palace. even on Diety level I get at least one wonder this way.

Against human opponents we would probably get our pick of wonders.

I think it would be a really nice psychological advantage if the "Warmongers" built the first Wonder.

I hope you're joking. That's just going to make it easier to crush them. We can go for Literacy/Code of Laws next, then catch up because we'll have more cities.

As for an early build, we need about 4 warriors to explore, before we should consider archers. Rushing ithem is absurd, it damages our production later. All rushes should be judicously, the price is high.

We cannot simply build military units and win. The Spartans tried and failed miserably. Their Elite fighting units were decimated by the smaller kingdoms who overran them.

The Roman and Mongol Empires are far more successful military examples. Examples which built civilization to improve the combat effectiveness of their war machine.

i completely agree, but i feel that every action we make should be to increase our military position, and if an action doesn't really strengthen us then we should avoid it

Get the 4 war techs, then go for literacy --- our conquests will give us more cities to build libraries in and soon we will be ahead in tech. We should pre-build libraries. We still will need riders & Cavalry later.

Wonders - we'll be a little late getting the techs, and against builders etc., we probably won't get them.
