    Ok, urgent stuff:

    Cities

I really want to know what will be our use for Imperial City. Frankly it does not need a Cathedral nor a Colisseum as of now, it would be much better if we got a granary and then used it as a settler/unit pump. Next turn it can build either a granary or a musket or rider. We need a few more muskets.

Also, Plague City needs an irrigated tile, perhaps we can use the former Camp Cod site once it is disbanded, that way we can max production and get a food surplus. If not, we can irrigate un of the non-shielded grasses.

    Diplomacy

Peace with RP is being negotiated, like I said, it's a question of giving Togas and Arne a bit more time.

We need to talk to Lego and see if they have something to offer for Chemistry. Perhaps we can trade Astro with GS and something else with Lego. This must be decided by the time we get the save which is likely tomorrow or on saturday.

    CoI

We have no CoI. If no-one steps up, I will spend the weekend making a massive city/worker plan for the next 10-20 turns. What, you didn't think warmongers can build?

      Urgent business updated.

Btw, for the record, my supposed movie date ended up into a nightclub date and the next day I did not have internet access (i'm using a pirated line until the cable guys come next week). And well, today was nightclub night again... aargh, this social life thing can be hectic...

but hey, you all "voted" for me so now you're screwed

In the chat yesterday Lego offered the following deal.

        They will give us

Astronomy,Banking+200g for Chemistry and Metalurgy. They will give all but 100g now and then will give 100g on completion of Metallurgy. Vondrack said he would PM you and Unortho with the deal. Obviously this means we goto Metallurgy. Research at this point so we could complete with what money we have. We can adjust if ND gives us some.

On Imperial city, I'd say a granary, that way we can sue it for a settler pump and recover quickly. I'd say we use the settlers to buff up our near cities. Also after we get Banking we should have a bank built in IC, even with tax rate low we still get enough gold there to make it worthwhile.

Here is the formal agreement between us and Lego as sent by Vondrack

          Legoland-GoW Banking+Astronomy/Chemistry+Metallurgy trade agreement

          1) Legoland agrees to provide GoW with Banking, Astronomy, and a balance in gold. GoW agrees to not resell/trade/gift these techs to any other party for 20 turns from receiving them.

          2) GoW agrees to provide Legoland with Chemistry and Metallurgy (which shall be its next research goal after completing the research of Chemistry). Legoland agrees to not resell/trade/gift Chemistry to any other party for 20 turns after receiving it. Legoland agrees to not resell/trade/gift Metallurgy to any other party for 20 turns after receiving it.

          3) The trade shall happen as follows: once GoW discovers Chemistry, it shall be offered as 'unaccepted' to Legoland. Legoland shall counter with Banking, Astronomy, and 100 gold, 'accepting' the deal on its part. GoW shall then finalize the first part if the trade by 'accepting' it. Immediately after GoW discovers Metallurgy, it shall be offered as 'unaccepted' to Legoland. Legoland shall counter with 100 gold and 'accept' the deal on its part. GoW shall then finalize the whole deal by 'accepting' it, too.

Excellent, I will PM Cort Haus from GS also to see if there is something besides Astro that they can offer.

I urge we continue the -80 gpt percentage level. This will give us Metalurgy in 8(it says 9 but that will be counteracted by some libaries(we should end up with 50 extrabeackers so a downturn in the slider on turn 7/8 is likely).

Here's the evidence. As you can see, the clear jungle icon does not appear, Shift-C doesn't work and even the automate jungle clearing (the only icon that does appear) doesn't work either.

What is worse, I sent the save to a non-apolyton friend who has civ and asked him to check it out, and he couldn't clear either. I am not sure if there is restriction of chopping jungle or forest in friendly territory or what. Btw, next turn we can also check with the Alamo worker since he finished roading the pamplona forest, I will check if the chop forest icon appears.

                    Oh well,

I've seen the same in my SP games, for some reason your not allowed to clear/chop tiles in others cultural area. Perhaps it has to do with the shields from clearing the tile?

I guess we will have to let ND capture the workers then give them back when the job is done.

There's no shields from jungle, though.

True but the actions are set up similiar only Jungle clearing has the shield bonus set to 0. Basically they both convert the tile's terrain, not just add and improvement they change the type of terrain the tile is. Thus they won't allow you to change someone else's terrain.
