note that if we move onto the hill even with all our riders, we still might face a total of 12 3-defense units, plus the MIs, if they choose to stack right on the saltpeter.A true ally stabs you in the front.

Darn, I knew forgetting to move those riders would be a problem. Ok I'd go ith the daring plan and put 7 units on the plains and build the road. Put workers and catapuls there too. If the 11 units survive, we can used the units covering the workers to attack the hill e of bacelona and then see whats barcelona looks like. Regardless we will have a road to rush east. If barcelona is too bad, we use the catapults to shell units and then kill them(since all units are withing range with road). There is a possibility that the knights will move south in response. If they do this we move our remaining forces to cover the catapults and shell, then we move the barcelona force either to attack or to the hills to its north. In a battle of manuever we win.

On the other hand, a real arguement can be made to ditch the daring plan and just road the plains and wipe out all those GS forces next turn. With a road there, we can pretty much hit them whereever they go. But this decision is basically a coin toss for me, so you all can decide.

they can't found the city next turn, that's a fact, however it is very likely that GS will stack next turn and even with 17 riders it'll be a hard nut to crack (in other words, I doubt we'll have enough riders left to defeat both these units and attack Barcelona)
Why don't we just assault Pamplona with ND next turn?A true ally stabs you in the front.

I've seen enough concern in this column to decide that due to MY mistake last turn, we can't do daring. So lets just move our forces to cover the workers. With catapults et al we can safetly weaken them then attack. I believe they have nothing else in this area and no more pike could reach the combat area.
Yes this might mean that we can't go after barcelona, but defeating these forces will accomplish a great deal of damage and combined with the new assault coming against Pamploma will open the way for our final victory.
They could be using these settlers for 1 or 2 reason. For fort cities or to get SP or Lux(the ideal spot is 1s of SP, they get both). If they move for sp then its ok because unless they do recon, they might not see us and thus might not stack. Even if they do stack and we get into a battle/seige we still win in the end. Remember we have 19 Riders total for battle next turn+a few(very few ansars). We can shell them and weaken them then attack. Or we could attack them, then shell to weaken them to the point of nothing, then destroy them. Of course we must attack weakened units the same turn or they recover 1hp(2 if they get city), but this is possible. We might not kill them all but we'll get most probably and tie down these forces so that the pamploma assault will proceed as palnned.

Wait to do any moves till I make a map of this idea. It would take 1 more turn, but could be decisive.

Option4
well I did some checking and to bring the riders down from the north would take too many turns. Now the good news, bringing them right through RP wouldn't.
Here is the map. Basically we get the same gain we'd get by attacking through barcelona except Barcelona, but we'd have all the other cities(including toledo).
The downside is it take another turn AND we leave GS to their on means south of us. Is it worth it or not.
Also I would like to refer you all to option 2 above where we move to the hill(currently held by 2Pike,1MI). Perhaps we could do this AND build the road, since holding that hill would cut off anycounterattack to our forces. Also we'd be on a hill and thus have a 4.5 defense. The downside is we might take loses before hand, but still it could be worth it since the counter attack would be at a disadvantage. Remember, we can replace loses here, they can't.
