Here is the map of the Eastern cities. Please make suggestions for troop movements. Mainly concentrate on whether we move the pikes into Port Isolation and let the Riders Defend Yellowknife. Or do we send more pike into yellowknife. There are 12knights and 4pikes in the GS stack.

Also in the south 8 Knights moved just north of Alamo. I am planning on moving 6 riders to cover the mountain just to their west. That leaves 17 Riders in Alamo, facing 20 Knights.

I think we protect Yellowknife with whatever we got.
By the next turn around, we may have negotiated peace, which means that whatever offensive move they make, (other than attack yellowknife) would be a waste of time.

GS can only hurt us if they take Yellowknife before peace. Lets not give them any chance of doing it. So a minimum of 13 units in Yellowknife. I dont care what units.

The hill SE of Port Isolation can be covered by a worker.
Bring the Pike into the city.

Pile everything into yellowknife. Its the only place they can hurt us currently.

17 units sounds better than 13, as long as we're facing 20. FP's can almost double production & gold. However, we should use our catapults as part of the defense. I'd say 13 (riders+pikemen) + 9 catapults would defend as well as 17 (riders+pikemen).

If we haven't hooked up our saltpeter, this might be a great time to build pikemen.

One thing I've learned in Civ3, is many shortterm goals are more important than the longterm ones, so much so, If we havehooked up Saltpeter, it might behoove us to build a few musketmen. If we have to choose between upgrading them and defending, we should keep them in a defensive position until the crisis passes.

Lets just remember that Port Isolation is by FAR a more important strategic location...or dtrategic I mean. With a close port city GS would be able to pile 3 units per turn per Galley. The build up there would be tremendous and quick. A road network is already there and I think the city is on a hill so it would be very difficult to take back if we lost it.

Ooops. I meant 2 units per turn per galley. That is still alot of units, and the way they have been talking, they have the units already built.

Well, they have 12 units right? So the max we really need in one city to deny its capture is 13 (of course if we have 11 we still have a very good chance). How many units will (do) we have there this turn Aggie? (We are now in 340 AD).

Well in 340 we will still have 6 units in PI. This is becase GS stayed still(thanks to the 1 turn ceasefire) and still are not within range of PI. However, we have 24 units in the area and can put 12 in each city. Another byproduct of the cease fire is that yeloowknife will be 7 so will have 50%bonus and has our first musk inside. My estimates are that if GS attacks the will lose about 7 out of 12 times. Before the walls it was will 7 out of 12 times. Next turn more musk will arrive.

Also a note, when opening the save I did it under the conquest and then the PTW shortcut. Under conquest the hill and bad karma's corruption was sufficient to delay their building an extra turn. for example the hill makes 20 shields a turn. In PTW it is at 17 after corruption, in conquest it is at 15. So when you play the turn remember "DON'T LOAD FROM CONQUEST SCREEN".

uhm... you shouldn't be loading from within Conquests anyways. ALWAYS load with PTW 1.27.

Thats what I meant Panzer. I was just interested to see hard numbers on the differences between corruption etc. You can really see how the rank difference works when you see the differecne between the camps in PTW and in conquest. If we had a FP it would even more interesting.
