  • Offesnive Operations

The chat today was very good and we decided that once we have 20 riders in the south an offensive will be launched, but not at Pamplona. After much discussuon we came up with this general plan.
ND will move there answar force and go toward barcelona. We will take 10 riders at see if the mountain 2 ne of pamploma is seriously defended. If not we'll take it and fortify there. This will leave our 10 other forces to defend ND against an attack from GS or RP. These attacks are small enough scale that they are winnable at the same time, they won't commit our's and Nd's whole force into a pitched battle before the extra forces arrive. From that moutain our forces can pillage the road from ND to GS and force knights of GS to retreat eastward. Now lets discuss.

Lego forces are heading north and just getting on boats.
But the first can't really be expected in our area until around 310 I estimate. The forces will be able to relieve the defensive forces in the North. My estimates say we will have the following forces at that time 42Riders total. With 5 up on defense in the north and the rest commited to the south. Those Lego forces will allow us to have around 11 defensive offesnive units up north and the more that lego can send the more that can go south. It can be argued that after we are at 20 units a thrus toward toledo is possible with the other units. Personally after we have secured the approaches to RP by taking that mountain, we should concentrate ALL available forces in the Barcelona to Madrid area. Earlier me an Ghengis discussed moving our forces up the desert alley(between barclona hills and Pamploma mountains) toward new madrid straight off. But the problem is that ND wants to strike ASAP. In a perfect world I'd wait for all our forces to get south(at least all of the 2nd wave)(the third wave will be similar) to launch any offensive. However I am sure that ND won't wait that long and if we strike it needs to be coordinated. This option seems to accomplish what we need(such attacks would be needed anyway part as diversion, but also to tie down GS force and perhaps draw out the knights they have). Hopefully GS will think this is all we have and act accordingly. To be honest I don't know what their estimates of us are. Do they think us able to produce our units as quickly as we are. Also we need to cut that road from Pamploma to Alamo, if that road is cut we don't even have to keep any units in the Alamo and could send 10 units to assist ND in the South near Barcelona. Obviously we will continue to crank out horse to upgrade, but I wanted to limit discussion to forces we have already calculated.

Current events dictate that this thread be updated.
I was always taught prioritize. Here are my rlisting of the objectives. Everybody tell me yours too. That way we can come up with a plan. Yes one exist but we need to really get this right. We have one chance of suprise.
1)Barcelona(as long as it falls before GP, needs not be the first target)
        2)Offensive units(knights first,MI second).
        3) NW RP cities, this includes the mountain 2ne of Pamploma

Now what orders should thse fall in.
I suggest that the first 2 can be taken in 310/330. Gs has done a huge favor for us, they concentrated an inferior force that contains their catapults and a large number of Offensive units. Destroying this force leads to a huge victory. So we send a force to attack the Large force in 310(or 330,see note below). In 330 the next stack of 11/12 riders could strike at the mountain 2ne of pamploma(this threatens the NE, rp and cuts troops movemnt too and from pamploma). Then the southern force press on toward Barcelona nd the coastal cities.
Note: If we desire we can wait till 330 to attack. This would allow both forces to attack at once and would allow ND pike to protect their answars. I am still elaning toward a staggered attack, so that GS forces get caught moving to the south to help and then have to go back north.
        Our assets.
        1) 33/34 Riders(depends on money)
        2) 17 Answans
        3) 7 ND pikes(in the south near barcelona)

Enemy Assets(estimated for worse case scenario)
1)16 Knights(I assume the have 8 knights elsewhere, maybe inaccurate but I think we confrimed 10+ on our move south) and Gs's strategy of posting knights around toledo that ND has reported indicates a rapid reactionary force. Since we see 8 in the south lets go with 8 elsewhere.
2)20 Pike (we see 10) and there are clearly scatted pike elsewhere
        3) >5 MI. we have no idea how many MI there are. We saw several when Gs landed. I believe that there were significant numbers seen in the vox/Gs war. Lets assume 10.
        4) 10+catapults. Most are probably concentrated in the south.
If anybody wants to make a scenario like this feel free. But lets work with these numbers.

I think our primary objective right now should be the complete elimination of the GS offensive collective which I shall refer too from here on as the "Xmas Present" (thanks, GS what we always wanted ). This puts A LOT of pressure on Roleplay as it gives us a chance to to wipe GS off the continent.

However, I would like a small force to go down the eastern part of the continent to ensure GS doesn't land a force there and then use them to attack Toledo from the north.

GS is building forces, if they are coming to the south we need to wipe our the current force before then. If they are coming to the north we need to be ready.

            Map to assist you

so that it is easier to visualize the situation here is a map. some notes first.
1.The numbers tell where the units will end up that turn from start of trip(either "the Hill" or Macao).
            2. The dark blue line is the agreed upon route through ND territory.
            3. The light blue line is an alternate route from Macao.
            4. The Redlines show possible attack routes toward toledo. The number here are the same as the movement routes.
            5. The Yellow/purple lines show our(purple) and ND(yellow) units range in 1 turn(from Alamo and ND current stack).
