Why is GS been so quiet lately?

Just a warning how vulnerable our capitol is to a naval landing. With the lighthouse, isn't it possible for them to have a task force well out of sight off our shores?

This is the same tactic as Inchon/inchoff as well, BTW, so not without precident in the minds of GS.

Perhaps we should build a few more Spearmen. Although they have a LOT of units down south and have made a lot of talk about how they will reclaim Spain.

I'd rather see us put pikes on the hills north, rather than make spear. I looked at the save ;the time for the trip for their galleys is 11 turns from when they dropped off their units. However to avoid detection they would have to travel on ocean. I would expect them rather to attack the east and move west. Any attack they place near imperial city there has many drawbacks. First they would have to hope we didn't defens the coastal tiles. Second they have no resupply and can't get their galley's home in time to affect the war. Also they would probably loose 25% of the force in the oceans. Remember Lighthouse effects sea movement not ocean. all in all too big a risk for them. Still all the same lets move pike and other units on those tiles between camp cod and camp concord and also get our riders in postition to defend both the east and west. A slight movement west would do it. As to what Gs is doing there are 2 possibilities.
1)Fortifying and gathering forces in there enclave.
2)preparing a large invasion force for the north.
Actually 1) is actually a bigger worry of mine. The fact is that the balance of power in the south is now firmly in the hands of the defenders. That is why we'll need this huge force to take them. I was wondering if when we have 20 units in the south whether or not we should attack that mountain ne,n of Pamploma as a precursour to an over all offensive. That mountain and the troops on it control movement pretty well in the rp sector. Taking and holding that mountain could be useful. Also from there we can pillage rp roads and thus protect salamanca. With our 3 movement we could attack and move units to that mountain. Also we need to seize the mountains that moverlook the desert passage to new Madrid.

We can't build Pikemen as we don't have Iron.

For this reason I support making the horsemen stay up north then upgrade them, and only then move them south. If GS lands we can get a deal with ND for iron within 2 turns then upgrade then counterattack.

i think you misunderstood me, I think we should move the units at Imperial city and the other cities to the coast, not create new ones. The only place GS could cause harm is in landing just north of imperial city. I do suggest we have ND send us iron accepted and that way if they do we can immediately upgrade units. We just do not accept until we need it. Yes it is possible they could threaten the camps but that would not be deadle to us. irritating yes but considering that such an amphibious attack would cost GS almost worth it.
Panzer I really want as many forces south as possible, as I said i my previous post. I see an attack in the capital area as unlikely.
PS i've just received word from lego that GP is 5 turns away at 100% research. But they run a deficit of 90 or so a turn. They need some starting this turn. I would like us to maintain 80 gpt profit a turn. Do ya'll think ND would go for doing the rest.(after all thye don't have a huge upgrade bill coming). Also they would like 80 more for upgrade horse to knight.
