  • To attack or not to attack Pamploma

Darekill informed me that ND intends to attack pamploma in 3/4 turns. He believes with the horde on answars +our riders the city could fall. This is possible. But is it worth it, or would it be wiser to by pass this city and concentrate on the fight against GS. Right now GS is paying for forces to sit and do nothing. Spain poses only 1 real problem. Their catapults can harrass our forces nearby. Other than that they have NOTHING to do. But at a minimum we need to wait until pamploma is down to 6 pop to attack. So maybe we should do 2 things. Attack GS forces near Pamploma or launch an attack against Barcelona. This would cut lux and more money from spain. Thus making GS pay even more money. Just an idea. I had wanted to wait for our large hordes to get down there and launch a HUGE attack toward NEW MADRID. Perhap this is a better option. Lets discuss options.

    1 quick comment...
If we attack, we have to take Pampalona in 1 round.
If we leave just 1 unit alive, then RP will use their turn to move their catapults where GS can capture them.

I'd rather wait until we have sufficcient units; I don't think we can attack and win now.

I agree Panzer, now we need to convince Darekill. He REALLY wants to and telling him will be like telling a little kid there is no christmas. Also Panzer is it ok if I use those southern workers to road over the jungle so out troops can move easier. Actually to be perfectly honest I'm for NO attack at all(at least not until GS is pounded).

We can tell Darekill that he can attack if he likes but GoW can't help him until we get more Riders in the south. I *hope* common sense would prevail.

As for the workers, I'll make sure they do that after there done the mountain

Alright, that sounds good. By the way D-Day for the attack on GS is 330AD. At that point we will have 30 or 35 riders in Alamo(Salamanca)(depending on whether or not we decide to move the 5 riders up in the north south and replace with horse that could be upgraded). Thanks to thew road those workers will make.. the best I can figure Nd would have almost 20 answars. Mayeb giving a set date will help them delay(lets face it 4 turns from now is 230, this just delays a major attack by 5 turns.

We CAN NOT afford to attack Pamplona now. Under no circumstances can it turn it out in our favor. We are in a position where waiting improves only our position not theirs.

By that time Lego would also be in the area; they could help with GS counterattacks.

I agree with this idea, I just wanted to make sure the whole team did before I disappointed Darekill. I'd much rather have us launch a huge attack(and I don't care what GS has, 50(30 ours+20ND) units is a huge attack) toward New Madrid and the GS area and then take pamploma later, it ain't going anywhere. I also calculated movement times and riders only really gain us 1 turn in getting south. So horse rushing south make good sense. Now the last southbound units actually could be upgraded in "the hill" on the way south in 250. But the others might as well get upgraded at the Alamo. Also do you think we should move our 5 current northern riders south or keep them up north as a defense. I have considered suggesting leaving 10 unupgraded horse in the north and then upgrade if danger approached. This way we only use the money for the defense units if we need too. Toward this maybe we should do barracks in port isolation as well. Also to consider is that as Panzer has mentioned Lego will be in the north by then(though I have come to understand from the chat with only their first 6 units.

I feel we should leave the Riders that were stuck in the East there as that will be the general area an attack will land. That way we do have a counter attack force in place.

All the other horses move to the Alamo. We are producing them in the North so an invasion up their has a continuous supply of fresh troops to assist. A sudden need for troops in the south would take time to meet, which is why I want them sent south. Thus keeping our options open down there.

Do we have a screenie of it?

How much opposition are we actually facing, etc.

If it is possible to take it, I would. I would want intelligence first, thogh, for if it was not 100% certain, it would be a deadly mistake to not take it (or even take it at heavy losses)

Lets contact Vox and see how much it would cost for a screenie.

Will a screen shot affect our decision? No, we are already aware of TWO stacks of Roleplay units that are 90% certain to be in Pamplona and we cannot take it with them there. Why waste money that can be used to upgrade Horsemen on a screenshot we can pretty much already arrive at?

I agree .. I have sent a PM to Beta for a quote but I think we should save our money.

The only change, would be if RP allowed GS to take their catapults

HE could you also send a note to Beta to see if they would be interested in say Chivilary for some gold. It actually might make better political sense if they got it from Lego, thus increasing their gold and allowing us to horde for upgrades.
