I don't think RP will gift GS any more cities. They know that would bring Lego into the fray.

Ok, I've seen the save and am VERY happy with what I see. We have unfortunately lost 1 rider, but have delayed the GS troops yet another turn(Please inform ND of this so they now they are 2 turns away. Also they are moving knights out of Toledo to force our riders back. Also our main force is intact. Now comes some decisions. I suggest we move the main force due south to the hill w,nw of Barcelona. But send the 1st rider by himself first(not group move). If I was Gs I'd be rushing a knight forces quickly to get to the southern cities ahead of us, and their last movement would put them on the desert square 2w of Barcelona. I would have sent knights to hold the hills also. Also, does anybody think a scout e is possible or necessary(it most likely is suicide). I am courious to see if they are sending troops(mainly pike) to barcelona.

Moving the main stack S, SW, then S is by far the most advantageous move on our part it puts FOUR Roleplay cities in attack postion for us next turn and GS can only reach the one south of Pamplona if they have an ROP with Roleplay. The other three are out of range of reinforcements.
Here's what it looks like. The two Riders that went north have only one tile (the jungle nw) to move to if they want to live. The others have a shot at breaking away to ravage the southern four cities on the next turn.
PS: Why was Sir Ghengis one of only two units moved the only direction I said I didn't want to go?

Actually if we end up in deser we can hit 5 cities there is another south of Valencia. The only worry I have of the desert is that they could attack us on the open desert and if the get 15knights they could pull it off and wipe us out. On the hill is would take about 20 knights to win.
But I am open to convincing.

After much thought here are the preliminary orders. If I don't get on before we play they should be used(unless there is overwhelming opposition). There were three options for a southward push. The following were the ending locations.
1)Hill w,nw of Barcelona
2)Desert 2 w of Barcelona
3)Hill s,sw,w of where we are now. This was a new option and has lots for it.
I have misgivings because I fear we could have a devestating defeat if attack sucessfully. But it seems the desert tiles are the bold move and history is littered with people who waitied for better opportunities. This is it, if they fail to get us the south is gone. Maybe even barcelona(though that is to be determined). So after much , much considerations I've decided on the desert tile. I doubt gs has the 15 knights to attack and defeat our whole force. But if they do this could be disasterous. What made my decision was this, if the spanish force is not near leon anymore it can get to salamanca, if we delay a turn by going to the hill. If it is near there then the hill will be sufficient since no forces could get there before us, except for the GS force which we could defeat. I really want salamanca, and I want to start our GA Asap.
For the 2 riders on their on, my tendency is to suggest we move SW onto the Mountain. Yes these forces could get attacked and destoyed but the enemy would most likely pay a price they can't afford.
I am still open to debate on these decisions, and suggest we think it well through since this is an extremly key turn. but as of now this is the decision.
Some request. Lets see if ND can give us a screenshot of their area. I really desire to see where that force is. I assume that it moved since they said no fighting occured. Also request a shot of Salamanca from lego or vox. Of course if Gs gets it, it will be out of date, but we know the max it could contain. This city is a real fortress with walls and hills.

If it has returned to Pampalona, then RP can use them to bring the riders down to 1 hp. GS can kill them with ease.
It seems the desert tile is the way to go. I too are worried about what GS can ship in and attack. But the benefits outway the risks. Plus we need to get into the war."No Comment"

My suggestion
Move them S-SW-W
That'll leave them in a hill, out of reach from a coastal stack, and can directly threaten 3 cities next turn.
As for the other 2 riders, moving them SW should be pretty obvious. They most likely be wiped out but will surely take at least one or 2 or more enemy units with them.A true ally stabs you in the front.

It is so blaringly obvious to be the best move. It puts the most distance between us and the GS offensive. It places us in one of the enemy's blind spots. It offers double/triple the number of potential city targets. NO OTHER TILE CAN EVEN COME CLOSE TO ALL THE ADVANTAGES IT OFFERS.
Can you not grasp the psychological impact of us taking 4-5 cities in one turn? The seizing of their Ivory resources and their southern harbor? (which would give us Ivory by the way as the city with Ivory would be connected to our city with a harbor.Last edited by GhengisFarbâ„¢; August 11, 2003, 07:16.

No, no no. That's a bad move. Not only does it take two and potentially three cites out of our attack range, but it puts our units ajacent to RP's borders where they are immediately visible. The S, SW, S move places them out of the cultural view area where they will have to be adjacent to a unit to be visible.
Which is my biggest concern, because RP lets GS know where we are, and GS attack us with Knights that they ship in by their "Insert name here" harbor city.
We dont get any teraign bonus's at all.
Of course...saying that ... I do agree with GF, and think that the deseet tile is still our best choice. Just hold our breath, that GS cant reach us."No Comment"
