  • Let's tell ND to backstab us!!! (Not)

Ok, I've been chatting with Togas again, and they are extremely suspicious about us not selling them Chivalry. I honestly have come up with excuses which may seem reassuring to them. I know Togas, he knows me, and I know he ain't buying it. I'm 100% sure that RP suspects that we are planning something.

So, I have an idea which might put them off...

We need ND to brainwashing them, Goebbels style. We should tell ND to approach RP regarding an alliance with them against us. Well, that idea was already put up in the other thread, but the twist here is that we tell ND to tell RP that we had been plotting with them to take out Spain. The problem is that we could not agree to a splitting on the continent and that it would be much easier for them to split north/south. Plus they suspect our defenses are much less than RP's and despite us having Riders, they'll have more Ansars, bla bla bla.

They would tell RP that they would be interested in developing this idea.

Hopefully that will put them off.

Togas keeps on insisting on Chivalry. He even threatened to switch to war production next turn. I suspect he will carry on that threat, and that means more pikes and med infs we'll have to face.

Please people, our ruse is dangerouly close to failing just turns before, but close enough that they'll have the chance to churn out units. My brain is out of ideas...

(on a bright note, we're 3rd place in production, Lego and GS are probably #1 and #2 which means we'll have a huge production advantage against RP with our GA)

How about this ... Lets turn everything around.

    Tell Togas :-
We have been told that RP & ND are aligned against us.
(We can say it was GS)
We found this out, only after we sold ND chiv.
ND has a no-resell clause, so we know you cant get it from them.
But there is no way we are going to sell RP Chiv, when we know you are going to attack us.

We are building riders & Pikes, and are going to sit and wait for your attack. So stop asking because we aint selling to anyone until we get gunpowder.

We can even go so far as to say we are going to go offensive against ND in a few rounds. Tell them they can either join in or sit on the sidelines... we dont care.

Tell him we are prepared for his invasion...and if 1 unit sets foot in our territory, it will be killed.

      Or how about ..

We are going to attack Vox, and then meet GS head on.

We know RP is in bed with Vox, and dont trust RP to not sell Vox Chiv... who may then sell it to GS ?

        Or how about this ....

        Why dont you quit MZ

Tell them you are sick of the forgetful Emporer and his blockheads. You no longer are taking an active part in the team, and therefore can no longer comment on the trade negotiations.

You can drop a hint, that it has something to do with us almost ready to attack ND in a backstab, but dont trust RP enough to sell them Chiv.
Tell him we are going to blatently double-cross ND after signing a NAP agreement. You dont like it, and dont want a part of it anymore.

Actually you know the story they've been inadvertently tricked into believing? That we're not selling Chivalry to RP because we're trying to get ND to attack RP and later backstab ND...

It seems they might be buying it. The problem is that at this point (and even before I started selling this story) RP has gotten to the point in which NOTHING will prevent them from making a last-minute build-up. However, if we can get them to build-up against ND then perhaps the east will be less defended for us to strike.

Since we strike first, they'll get off-guard and either stay put defending against ND or meet our challange. Either way, they'll HAVE to split their forces. They cannot defend against both.

I think MZ's original idea has been the best up to this point... ND would have to get involved though.

Send ND something and see what they think. If they are willing to do it then let them.

If not, then we just pretend we have a busy RL and don't go into the chat

Just an expansion of the idea I posted earlier elsewhere.

It's our best bet assuming ND will work with us.

IF THEY DON'T SELL THE DAMN TECH!!!

I'd like to do that, but they just won't buy it.... especially considering my involvement in the ISDG... plus if I don't go into IRC they'll still hound me via ICQ or AIM...

This is what I've sent to Borc:

                Hello Borc.

During the last couple of days, Roleplay has been pressing us on the issue of Chivalry to the point that they have openly told me that they suspect something is going on, and that they will prepare for it. Frankly I see only one option besides outright selling them Chivalry which will appease them for some time. Of course, our team doesn't want to sell them Chivalry at all.

The solution that we have in mind, is for your team to approach RP with an offer to ally against us say in ~10 turns. That you just got Chivalry and are building up for an offensive. Perhaps what would be even more interesting is that you told them that we (us both) had been plotting to destroy RP but that you do not agree with our splitting the continent so you have no intention of fullfilling the deal. You would also tell them that you are also considering selling them Chivalry. Anyway this is an idea I am currently posting in our forum.

I would like to know what you think about this before we actually do it. Time is running out, and I fear each minute RP has more chance to prepare...

                Best regards
                -Master Zen

                and his reply:

                Hello mz,
we are allready discussing your idea very much in our forum...
i am sure we will soon write a letter to RP... (probably with your idea included)
                our main idea is also
                a) to win time and to make them feel save
                b) not to chat with them until we are a bit closer to the attack date 30BC/10BC
