How about Tsunami, as the name of the city?

Either Tsunami (Japanese), Sufa / Se'ara (Hebrew) or anything else by that theme and in any other language would be fine by me.

Tsunami is a good name. But wasn't it caused rather by an earthquake?

Yes, they're huge tidal waves caused by underwater earthquakes.

The Babel Fish gave me these translations for 'Storm':
          En Español: Tormenta
          En Français: Orage
          Auf Deutsch: Sturm
          In Italiano: Tempesta
          Em Português: Tempestade
The fish also translates to Chinese, Japanese and Korean, but it provides the translation in different alphabets and does not provide Phonetic translation, so it's useless to our cause, since we cannot enter names in other alphabets as city names... though it would look cool to write the names of our cities using the Kanji alphabet, for instance.

I think I have it. The Kanji letter Arashi stands for 'storm'. Wouldn't Arashi be a cool name for a city?
            Gathering Arashi...

I'm having to do some very serious juggling in Cyclone and the surrounding area to get the city to finish its settler next turn. I'm using two wheats this turn and letting Bolderberg have the irrigated game (it doesn't need lots of production this turn anyhow), and next turn we can have Cyclone work the irrigated game plus two wheat tiles to make up the difference in food. Then we'll need to build a worker before going back into settler production mode because we don't have enough production for four-turn settlers otherwise. (The problem is that at nine gross production, two shields are wasted.)
