  • I blew it.

I accidentally posted a thread with poll about revisions to the deal with Vox and Lux to the strategy forum instead of here. I caught it almost immediately and I don't think anyone had a chance to see the text of the deal itself, but the fact that something's going on will be hard to miss if anyone from here looks at the strategy forum before MarkG takes the thread down. (I PMed him asking him to.) Sorry about the mess.

No need to respond to my PM re: getting that deleted, then.

I dunno about anyone from other teams, but clearly I noticed it. Then again, I'm always checking in on that forum.

You caught it quickly & dealt with it. Hopefully no one else saw it.

Mark doesn't seem to be on, so I PM'ed Ming.
(don't know if he will act on it, since it is your thread.)

Yeah, I know how it feels Nathan. Don't feel bad about it, it's just a silly accident.

Just got a PM from Ming, thread is gone.

I kept an eye on it, it was only opened by 15 people.

The question is, were any of them the wrong 15 people.

Thanks for PMing Ming about it, Alva. (I suspect that the "Oops, wrong place" took care of any concerns Ming might have had about your asking to have someone else's thread removed. )

Well, if in the hour orso all the ambassadors PM boxes fill up, we'll have our answer...

Let's say 7 or 8 non gs members looked at it.
Let's hope Catt opened it 7 times

Shiber, could you do some monitoring in the chatroom regarding this incident? Might tell us something.

                  Good idea!
But... I can't. Not right now. RL calls, you see...
Can anyone else take my place? LoA perhaps, he's been helping me monitor the channels. Could anyone PM him please, I have to leave now.

I'm sorry I have to take off at such an important time... but these circumstances are beyond my control.

Do you think we should send an apology to Vox and Lux about this?

FP- Let's wait with the damage control until we know the real damage done, or at least get some insight on it. More than an apology, we should warn them that people may know...

What i don't like, is not that someone will know Lux is here, that will happen pretty soon, but that we will be stained as hosts of a "wanted" team...

Hope these are not the "wrong" 15...

The poll options (as posted here) don't give anything away, and I'm assuming that nathan edited out all the text from his first post as soon as he could. Of course, anyone who reads that will know that we are in negotiations with Lux.

Could anyone tell me the title of this thread? I didn't notice it in time.

Plus, let's hold a counter vote: everyone who accessed the thread simply say how many times they did (if they still remember, of course), I can imagine Nathan already being 2 or 3 of those 15, and it seems quite a few others viewed it as well... maybe we won't know exactly how many other people saw it, but if it was only available to 1 or 2 other people, I don't mind.

At any rate, mistakes happen. As long as they don't become a habbit, we simply need to deal with them, it won't be the last time someting went wrong.

Just about everything about my misplaced post was essentially identical to the message and poll I posted here. I got rid of the text within a minute or so after I posted, and my impression from the post count was that probably, no one read it in the meantime. What was left could tell readers that we were working on some kind of deal with Vox and Lux, but not the nature of the deal.

were you able to edit the title of the thread as well? if so, this might went by unnoticed... if not, others could have gotten a hint.

I still think that it would be good to do a count... even if the view counter doesn't always work with 'poly being so laggy lately
