      Shiber, correct me if I'm wrong, but you are referring to the -1 turn score?

          Sorry about missing the fact that EotS was going to grow this turn. Things got a bit crazy for me last night with my having just been approved for the intersite game forum.

          I'm issuing a standing order: unless there are instructions otherwise (or a military emergency), EotS always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS should be configured to grow as fast as possible after growth or building a worker or settler. (That doesn't mean waste shields producing more food than is needed for growth, of course.)

            Just a general question: when unit no longer has any moves and so cannot fortify, but then is told to fortify using the Fority All command, does it get the fortification bonus? This is something I've been wondering about a lot lately, and figured I would get the best response from GS (although this should by no means be a big secret).

              I've never run that particular test, but I'm pretty much positive I've upgraded units with no movement left as part of a shift-U upgrade. That makes it seem likely that Firaxis didn't add a "check for remaining movement" operation for the fortify option either.

                No, they don't. The unit only gets the bonus next turn.
                So yes the animation is misleading..

                IIRC it was Soren who said this, somewhere on 'Poly.

                  Yeah, you're right Alva, I saw it quoted when working on the Alamo scenario (where we had the same problem). The animation is buggy, but the unit will not defend harder, it's purely an update problem in showing...

                  Score drop: pop-rushing... most likely explanation, as the score should have dropped a few turns ago when it they razed their city. But I'm still not certain how the score mentioned here works, whether it's the mean of all scores so far (like when calculating a hist-win), or whether it's immediate. If it's the mean, it could also be a delayed effect from the city, as getting an average means creating a delay in data... if it is a mean, it will probably drop again next time, and perhaps even the turn after that until it balances out again.

                  powergraph: nothing changed, which makes it clear that last turn, RP build some troops, or got a (large) cash deposit.

                  F11: land area dropped, but as more cities are getting border expansions from temples, that's not a problem.

                      I like being #1 in commerce for the past 5 turns myself best... the gold and the river are certainly blessings to us!

                      But yes, 5 lost pop, and still #1 is also not bad
