  • Turn 58, 1575 BC

To be edited by the leaders of the Scholia.

    Status:
    - Researching Code of Laws at 100%, ready in 5 turns.
    - 52 gold cash, -2 per turn

    Urgent questions:

    Military:
Grog is "sentrified" to ensure we see Vox movement.

    Economy:
    - Worker east of Cyclone starts mining.

    Diplomacy:
    - Expect contact to Lux from Vox

    What about ND?
Should we just wait for them to buy our contact or should we do something to speed things up? CoL will be ready in 5 or 4 turns, and we don't want to lose a client just because they were too lazy or too cheap to buy our contact.
Note: doing something doesn't necessarily mean buying contact with ND. We could, for example, ask Vox to sell our contact to them for a very discounted price, to which they will probably not refuse.

military comment: Is Grog fortified or sentried? I would sentry him, so that we are notified by any movement by Vox. Right now, it could be possible for them to move a horse along the road, from one end Grog's line of sight to the other, without him noticing. If he's on sentry, he wakes up if that would happen.

I'm not sure if I asked this already

Um, Theseus, shouldn't your "Make it so" be edited into the top of the thread?

Sorry, not used to this editing concept, still. I will do so now.

There can be a problem with Sentry in MP. I would not rely on it. I do not have enough experience with PBEM to say the problem effects this game or not.

I have sentried all warriors instead of fortifying them, the barbarian lookouts too. So unless Nathan has changed this intentionally or by accident, all should be sentried. I'm not sure if this helps, though.

Ah, so I wasn't first at any rate

I didn't hear from the problems, do you mean that warriors aren't fortified during the enemy's turn, or that they don't wake up when they need to?

I haven't seen a problem yet, but my PBEM experience is only limited to the Euro PBEM game. In there, sentry has worked fine for me...

I haven't unsentried any warriors just to switch them to being fortified, but I'm not used to using the sentry command so any workers I put in position and you didn't sentry would be fortified.

                      Playing the turn now.

RP offers us Mathematics, we decline.
Vox offers us Mathematics (accepted), we accept and possess Mathematics now. Vox forgot a second time to give us contact to Lux.

EotS grew to size 5 and makes 4 food surplus, 5 shields now. 11 shields remaining for a settler. Not optimal. We should either put one laborer from fur forest (where he was put automatically) to irrigated plains (growing in 2 turns, settler ready in 3) or rearrange laborers next turn to steal some missing shields from Hurricane (growing in 3 turns, settler ready in 2). Assuming Nathan suggested the 2nd option, since he didn't write anything about rearranging the laborers.

Ok I won't wait any longer. I won't touch the laborers in EotS. Next turn we can adjust them to complete the settler. The turn after this, the city grows again.

                        Team Scores:

                        102 (+2) Gathering Storm

                        90 (+2) Glory of War
                        112 (+3) Role Play
                        80 (+2) Vox Controli
                        74 (-1) Lux Invicta

What can cause a team's score to drop other than losing territory and lux/res?
I'm not quite familiar with how score is calculated. If someone else is, maybe we can learn something from Lux's score dropping by 1 this turn.

                              Shiber,

They disbanded a city - the lost pop and territory would account for it, no?

                              We have math...

You know, I was thinking... especially with this being chieftain and all (easy to keep big cities happy), it would be awfully nice to somehow snag Construction soon.
