Until only recently, most of us thought that barbarians were sedentary on this map. I figure that we're not the only team that were living in ignorance up until now.
On Chieftain, barbarians are not a threat. They will only serve as an annoyance and somewhat of a hassle to most of the other teams. The possibility that one of the teams will get one of their cities sacked by a barbarian is of course very welcome
but alas, very remote.
Now, this is just an idea, but I was thinking: maybe we could take this lemon and make lemonade (apologies for the corny expression). Maybe we could send diplomatic messages to all the other teams (except Vox, they already know) alerting them that we have just recently come across barbarians, and that there may be barbarians roaming around in their territory as well. Those teams who do not know of this yet will certainly appreciate the tip, and this could give us some credit in the future in terms of diplomatic relations.
