  • Turn 34

To be edited by the leaders of the Scholia.

    Status:
    - We possess 28 gold and are running 2 deficit, with the Settler.
    - Researching Alphabet at 100%.
    - We seem to have a consensus first to settle site #3.

    Urgent questions:
    - Where was site #3 again? Is it 2-2-1 from EotS?
    Answer: Yes.

    Military:
    - Slash continues to explore along the west coast, goes 2 next.
    - Hack goes 3, Ouch stays fortified, if Tim and Willy don't move.
    - Zonk and the Settler go 2, towards site #3.

    Economy:
    - EotS builds Settler and starts next. Reshuffle laborers to work 3 FPs and 1 irrigated fur.
    - Switch Hurricane laborer to the other irrigated fur. (Worker should complete in two turns.)

    Diplomacy:
    - nothing for now.

      Woohoo! Settler pump in progress.

Sorry, I'm in a silly mood.

How about Cyclone for our next city's name?

Cyclone sounds good for a city. I don't remember who and where, but somebody posted a whole lot of good storm related names, perhaps we should look for this post?

Sir Ralph, a shocking new avatar.

Cyclone is a good name. Tsunami, Typhoon, Zephyr what others could be...

I believe Sir Ralph is referring to one of my posts. Here are the names I came up with one boring evening (nothing like an exercise in vocabulary to spice things up!), and here is the link to the original thread, in case any discussion is necessary. Actually, this link is worth checking out, since alva and others proposed some other names (including nifty German ones).

              Site 1: Whirlwind
              Site 3: Tempest
              Site 4: Squall
              Site 5: Typhoon
              Site 6: Cyclone
              Site 7: Gale
              Site 8: Thunder
              Site 9: Lightning
              Site 10: Torrent
              Site 11: Tornado
              Site 12: Maelstrom

Turn is here. I'll be opening it in a few minutes, assuming I don't hear from Sir Ralph. This thing's moving fast!

The game's afoot, eh? I'm impressed by the speed. Perhaps the groups have figured out how to preplan their maneuvers and there is little in turn discussion. When the bloodletting begins, it will slow down. The agonizing decision to declare war.

All visible Voxian forces are the same place as last turn, as expected.

Laborers reallocated according to plan. Hurricane grows in one turn and builds its worker in two.

                        Team scores:

                        64 (+1) Gathering Storm
                        75 (+2) Demogyptica
                        64 (+1) Glory of War
                        69 (+1) Role Play
                        62 (+1) Vox Controli

                        72 (+2) Legoland

That's three turns in a row at +2 for Legos, if I remember right.

Power graph zigged a little in Vox's favor.

                          Moves completed as planned.

                            An alarming trend...
ND is growing rapidly too, but we rarely see any of their cities in the top 5 list, and mostly when we see them it's on the bottom of the list.

Does anybody know exactly how the scores are calculated?

ND is certainly using really nice Food bonuses to REX without a Granary. That's the only reasonable account of their high score.
