    Very true. That's why we should certainly begin with #3, followed by the gold city, and then we can continue to settle according to how Vox settles (rushing north if they settle fast, settling in #7 or #4 if they prove to be slow).

      Having #7 built won't do us any good for building WCs until we get a road to the horses, and all three cities will be built by the time that happens. I should be ready to do some playing with the order of building the cities between now and the time we get our second settler.

        Nathan, please try to test with a road to the horses asap, it won't be ideal from an economic point of view, but it will surely help us in our defense if we need to. You're right that we currently have 13 turns between spotting an ivasion force, and getting attacked, but if 6 of those turns are spent on rushing a road, the picture will get much less rosy...

        Not that I think Vox is going to attack us the next 10 turns, but you never know with these guys.
