  • Urgent! Security leak!

If you look in an users profile, you see the title of the last thread, where this user posted, regardless whether it is in a private forum or not.

Don't give threads too descriptive names!

My thread title "Pottery will be ready 2670BC, what next?" is ways too informative this way. Please don't post in this thread anymore and learn from my mistake.

Sir Ralph, are you sure? I clicked on your profile, and it took me to annoyances, a thread in the Paradox forum. The date is on the post is of this thread, but the title and link go to your last public post.

I saw before that searching doesn't give any results from our forum, it would be really bad if the user profile let it slip.

This was my last post before this one. Guess the profile isn't updated too often.

Well... in that case the date should be the one of yesterday on your Paradox post, but that was updated.

Clicked on my own profile, and while the date was again correct, no title was given. My guess is that at least some protection is in place. Will test it with others...

Hmmm, seems true, I just don't want to risk.

When I check DeepO's and my profiles, I get a date for the last message but not a thread. Sir Ralph, where did you get your information or research that you started this thread based on?

Yes, I clicked on most people I found so far, and either the last public thread was listed, or none (possibly when the last public was too old). It could be you saw a glitch, of course... which would mean we need to be more careful

It was just "theoretical", browsing through some user profiles. May be I over-reacted. If so, never mind. But I think it's better to be careful than careless .

I tested this as soon as I joined GS and I found that the profile didn't reveal any information about my posting habits in this forum.
Sir Ralph and everyone else, if this ever happens to you, please take a screenshot and send it to the GS mailbox.
