Labourer switched from grass to furs (irrigated end of this turn)
The Wheel in 4 turns
Reducing science to 90% would increase The Wheel from 4 to 5 turns with -1 defecit.
Reducing science to 70% would increase The Wheel from 4 to 6 turns with 0 defecit.
Anybody have an opinion?(\__/)

We start the turn with 7 gold. Leaving it at 100% would leave us with 5. My only concern is being able to run a defecit for 3 or 4 turns while we have a settler moving.
Also, it is 7 comm x 4 turns = 28 comm for the Wheel
6c x 5t = 30
5c x 6t = 30
If we are lucky we can reduce to 70% next turn and keep the Wheel in 5 (from now) at a total cost of 27c. I think leave it max for this one more turn.(\__/)

Grog moves 8. Sees more grass to the NE. Jungle to the N.
Gronk moves 4. Sees a small forest.
Hack moves 8. Hut ahoy! and desert.
Slash moves 9 to support Hack with the hut.

hm, really surprised about that hut, didn't expect that one.
Are we gonna wait as long as possible to open it(settler/city), or go for short term gain?
Good to see there's more land to the north (even if it is jungle), I would like to see a river though.
Could it be Lux's luxury was cut of or something (Barbs, ND) ?Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Alva, your speculation regarding Lux's score sounds like the only plausible theory. However, I don't see why we should wait instead of popping the hut ASAP. What would be the advantages of waiting?"Close your eyes, for your eyes will only tell the truth,

Close your eyes, and let music set you free..."

A hut surprises me too, but still I think that we did good to not choose an expansionist civ. But it does mean that we will get barbarians, so maybe Gronk needs to patrol the Northern plains to avoid barbs raising. Definately leave the Warrior with no name fortified in EotS!
As to popping it: there should be enough support, so that if we pop barbs, they can't escape towards our worker and irrigated lands. I'm not sure, but there is little chance of 3 barbs attacking our warrior at this difficulty level, and even if they did, Hack would probably survive. To gain settlers or cities, we should pop it asap, before our second settler is built. Otherwise we should have to wait until we are sure everyone else has at least 2 cities...
I must say, the textual report on our warriors is quite good: I'm at work, and don't have access to the screenshots, but the whole evolution gets depicted in my head

Well, if we wait just before our settler is build, we might have more chance of popping one
(if other teams have build a second city in the mean time).
It could increase the chances of getting a settler/city, or even be able to get one .Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Alva, I thought that as long as everyone has 1 city, we can get one. The moment we have more then the average number of cities, we can't have one (and of course, with a settler building or active you can't get one either). So, there is no difference in chance by simply waiting, which would mean that the faster, the better (a city now instead of in a few turns would be best).
Still, the chances are low...

ahh, forget what I said then and pop that thingIs God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Pop it now!
We don't know what's in there, and the sooner we know the better, besides, if is gold, we can avoid the overdraft we are going to run into and get that wheel faster.
And if it's a settler or, if the Great Storm wills it, a city, well you know about the REX advantage.Save the rainforests!
