    archer rush?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

    • Damn you Nathan, for leaving culturally linked starting locations on!

Look at it this way. When I'm eliminated, turns will go even faster...

      Nathan's turn!

You're sure they're on? As I recall, I wanted them off, but since it took me several attempts to get the game to set up "properly" (as best I could tell at the time), it's not impossible that I forgot the time that counted.

I'm at work now, so it'll be a few hours before I get home to play my turn.

          • No need to apologise, I'm having a ball. And I didn't even attack (yet).

After this episode is over, I'm very curious how Alex played to counter me, this is exactly the situation we would not want to be in in the demogame.

I don't think it would be mathematically possible for DeepO to have more than a single archer in Alex's territory at this point, and that's not what I usually think of as a "rush". Even with chop assists, it would take five turns from the start of the game to have one archer and eleven to have two. Then again, a single archer would trump a single warrior more often than not. In most instances, the warrior would be forced to attack at less-than-even odds to avoid being attacked at even worse odds.

I am really curious, though, as to exactly what is going on between them. Obviously, it's not something good from Alex's perspective, but so far, they're just hinting around the edges.

              • You can't rush with one archer, that's true... and I won't comment on tactics too much in order to not give anything away. Let's just say Alex' expansion is from now on seriously hampered, and I'm looking forward to harvest a few slaves.

                  • Yeah, even too close for a decent archer rush: no space to expand peacefully too (at least not on my side).

It's that I'm GoW here, or we would get along just fine. You two are the ones who are going to benefit biggest from all of this, even if I would attack, and win alexman's capital, I will be behind in expansion, as we are likely to both build up forces instead of settling new cities. Oh well; an archer has to do what an archer has to do, my grandma always said.
