I'm not overly fond of the duality involved in having essentially two distinct names: "Gathering Storm" and "Tempests." But I can live with it if others like it. With "Tempests" as an alternative noun (at least implicitly), "Tempest" as an adjective would make sense, although it's not a word I normally think of as an adjective.

Another possibility would be just to use "Storm" as the adjective, with "Gathering" implied. Such a usage could come about easily enough if people talked about "Gathering Storm this" and "Gathering Storm that" and then the usage got abbreviated over time to just "Storm." So we would have Storm cavalry, Storm cities, etc. (And if you don't mind a bad pun, every cellar in our civ would be a Storm cellar. )

I am becoming partial to just Storm.

Just think.. We can rename all our eliet GL generating units Troopers giving us Storm Troopers
(I here the galllary groaning from here)

What is really nice is that whatever we pick, the world will adjust. I becomes a matter of what we can live with and enjoy.

ok well maybe Tempest isn't so great....Storm is a good name too so lets keep that one.
