Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
And if we have connected the fur, do we need the 3rd Warrior as an MP for pop 2?
The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.
We can road the 3rd fur we chop, I figure. That one isn't on the river, and thus the bonus trade from the road isn't wasted (despotism eats the 3rd trade from roaded fur next to river). The city will hit size 3 only briefly prior to punching out a settler, I think. I'm not sure if on Regent we will need a couple of turns of luxury spending (or alternatively military police), but it's no big deal if we do.

When we hit size 3, we'll need a luxury connected, an MP, or a notch on the luxury slider until we build our settler. Probably, by that point, our third warrior will need to stay home for defense anyhow.
If we go with the newly-conceived "5 warrior plan" (being discussed in the "current information" thread) we will kick out a settler the turn EotS hits size 3 (T23). Plus, we will have 2 more units than originally planned. So no worries about happiness with that scheme.
Yeah, the 5 warriors seem fine, with one possible exception: if we find out we are on an island, we don't need warriors, nor barracks, but settlers, research, and galleys. Let's hope that doesn't happen, though.
4 exploring warriors (assuming 1 warrior will hang out in EotS) will be able to quickly figure out whether or not we're alone, and if so, uncover all the land and quickly kill the barb encampments (thus paying for themselves many times over). What we REALLY don't need if we're alone is a barracks.
With the way the land gets wider as it goes up, I doubt that we're on an island, but it's always possible. Finding out early certainly wouldn't hurt, and the extra warriors would give us the extra exploring capability to guarantee that if there's a bonus food tile nearby, we'll find it. Plus, Grog seems to be heading in a general northwesterly direction, and having more warriors would avoid the need to have him circle back to find out what's upriver.
Arrian, I agree. Our two first warriors should be able to quickly tell whether there is some land to the north of us, on the south side it seems we already now (from the minimap) that we're alone.
As to wasting a few shields: I guess the faster settler makes up for that a few times over, so I don't mind that...
Does anyone know the exact probability of disease striking if you're working a floodplains tile?
I'm asking because if desease strikes before getting out our first or second settler, we're going to be in big trouble and it might not be worth the risk.
Nope, not me. I thought it was something like 5% per tile used, and it changed after certain techs (construction? replaceable parts?). I'm not sure whether it is level dependent (which will be very important to find out!).
I thought it was level dependent, but that is based soley on observations from playing the game, not Firaxian statements. Hey, perhaps we could ask our shadow team member, Soren.
Soren, what is the chance of disease due to floodplains?
Sanitation eliminates disease from flood plains, but not from jungle tiles.
Also, AFAIK the chance of catching disease is 5% * the number of worked tiles in the city's radius that are carrying disease.
AFAIK the level has nothing to do with the chance of catching disease, though it seems very possible.

From my experience, 5% per turn per flood plains tile worked seems way high. That would be an average of disease once per 20 turns even with just one FP tile, or around once per 10 turns with two. Or are you saying 5% per some longer interval?
