  • Turn 242: 1260 AD

Vondrack posted in the save thread stating that he sent the save almost 12 hours ago, yet noone started a turn thread.

    Lego's battle report:
    Turn 242, 1255 AD

    1) 3/4 Lego DD attacks a 2/4 GS submarine at Abilene 44441; wins (3/4)
    2) 4/4 Lego battleship attacks a 1/4 GS DD at Sharpehaven 44111; wins (2/4)

There - you've got your luck, too. Odds of our BB losing more than 1 hp were under 10%...

Total: 2 attacks, 2 won, none lost, no promotion.
We lost nothing, GS lost 1 DD and 1 submarine.

    Save to GS.

We got the save, but it takes a lot of time for DeepO to review all the ramifications.

Just the micromanagment of the tiles is significant. Not to mention it is Friday, so it is a work day for some (not me). So with the usual slow down on the weekend and each turn being important, everyone is taking at least a full day.

We will hear form him soon.

sorry guys... I just missed the save before leaving it seems. I just returned, and it's late (3 am here). I think this one will be for tomorrow morning, I don't want to be up for the next 4 hours playing the save...

I don't think there will be a lot of deciding to be done, we just move everything to the T-1 points. Next turn will be a lot more difficult. That BB attacking our 1/4 DD is perfect: I'll have to see the exact position, but it doesn't look like it will be able to attack our N fleet. But more on that in the morning.

Looks like the ten percenters are in play for this war. A medal to all who served on that 1/4 DD

Let's just hope there gone now, and won't re-appear on D-day.

              - 2 bomber

we can expect another 16 tanks next turn, maybe even more.

              other observations
              - GoW bombed the coal near Jackson, it is unroaded. However, they do not have an airfield (that I can see) on the tip of Little Bob, bombardment has had to come from a carrier.

              - I see a stack of 5 RP TR on its way towards Lego. RP has cleaned all its cities for this: there are no defenders anymore! They are taking serious risks...

I'll work on a screenshot, to see where we should be going with our fleet. I can't spot any Lego ships right now...

okay, I needed a few more colours this time.
                - In dark red, the killing zones.
                - transparant red: where the killers could have gone to
                - magenta: the 2 subs we spotted last turn, but couldn't sink
                - transparant white: T-1 tiles, where we want to end our turn with the 3 fleet
                - white arrows: where our ships go to.

a bit depends on the result of what we'll see. The 3/4 DD can without doubt be spotted. Hopefully, it could also be attacked without us compremising the protection of our S fleet. If at all possible, I'd like to keep the fighters in the carriers at air superiority next turn, which means they can't be used to bombard (bombarding a DD only has a 25% of succeeding anyway, as a fighter has 2 bombard value). The N carrier is a bit unprotected, but the reason is that it can serve as a decoy, while at the same time be in range of our N fleet for air superiority. I'm still not sure if we'd want a DD on top of that one, or not (1 DD doesn't really help, and spending 2 is costly)

and another BTW: we are going to need a lot of diplo done this turn. We didn't receive an answer from ND on the techs, nor did we receive an answer from GoW on radio / rubber. This has absolute priority right now! Next turn, we'll be without rubber

Hum... another idea... we'll leave the N carrier, together with a DD on the TR hub 2. It's still a decoy, but in this case Lego has to spend at least 3 ships to break the chain. Which means that either they use their BB stack, or we can chain 8 more units next turn to Sando

alva, if you could include how much Lego has lost in every turn, it would be most useful!

Great! So Lego built 22 units last turn. We can expect another 20 or so tanks next turn... making a total of 130 units to be distributed over 7 cities. We should be able to break through those defenses, at least if we get there with the 90% odds we've been calculating with.

There's a good chance Lego will put more defenders on our side compared to GoW. Undoubtedly, they will have seen GoW does not have as many M as we have. Or, they might put all their defenders near GoW, to be certain they only have to deal with one invader.

Next turn is going to be exciting nonetheless

Damn. I found the BB stack... it has shrunk to 6 BBs, and is situated just out of reach at Forkmouth 112 (8 of T-1 tile). The only thing we could hit it with is the fighter.

Still moving according to plan, it doesn't change much.
