  • Whoa. Some updates, please? :)

    Old time no see.

I see a lot has changed since I last checked in (which was sometime around the end of the war on Bob).
If it's not asking too much, can I get a summary of what I've missed?

Oh, and sorry for being so rude and barging in without saying anything about where I've gone and what I've done in the recent year or so.
Please excuse me if for undisclosed reasons, I cannot disclose any personal information.
All I can say is that I've been having the best time of my life, and everything is great (no, I'm not high on some sort of drug, if that's the impression that you're getting).

      hmmm

      errrrr

      welll

we are thisclose to declaring war on lego, well what, 10 turns or more? DeepO has done a fantastic job whipping our nation into a lean mean machine. We got hoovers and TOE which helped dramatically. We have (we think) an alliance with GoW to assault lego and have been pushing in that direction.

See the various invasion threads for the troop info, its quite impressive what deep) has done to our country.

RP is going to supply I think a few transports of Conquis to run intereference.

ND is a big ? at this point. but GoW thinks they are on board. personally I think we are going to be screwed over by those two teams.

Hey man, good to see you

I'll try to check in at least once a week from now on.

I suppose the main points are that after the Bob war, our first priority was to catch up in tech, since we were lagging a bit behind. Don't remember how, but we caught up, and everyone more or less hit the industrial age at the same time.

We managed to form an agreement with GoW and ND to trade with each other and to try and cut Lego out of the tech trading loop, and basically intended to divide up the research between the three of us and share it. GoW have been very willing and co-operative in this, while ND have been more reluctant, so in practice GoW and us have been sharing research, and trading with ND. ND did do some trading with Lego, but I'm not sure how much has been done recently.

We managed to get ToE, and of course took Atomic Theory and Electronics as our free techs, netting us the Hoover Dam. While this is nice, the main aim was to deny it to Lego.

The anti-Lego tech strategy was part of a larger GAUL plan (the Grand Alliance to Undermine Lego), with the idea being that GoW, GS and ND could race ahead of Lego, get to marines first, and build up a decent amphibious invasion force to do some serious damage in a joint invasion of Lego. As far as we can tell, GoW are very much on board with this. ND seem more borderline, although seem more favourable now that they've had a leadership from Zayxus to Darekill (Zayxus was much more pro-Lego).

Currently we're churning out tanks and soon will start on marines, ready for the invasion. We figure Lego can barely have tanks by that point, so the majority of their defence force is going to be infantry and cavalry. We're mobilised for war, and have upgraded many units to infantry recently (which Lego has unfortunately noticed, since we've become strong relative to them recently - so they know we're coming).

The big danger for us is that we get double crossed by ND or GoW. But that's something we have to live with. If we keep enough stuff at home to defend ourselves, we probably don't have enough to do any real damage to Lego, and they are going to win the game. So we have to gamble on doing enough damage to Lego to make them a non-factor in the first combined strike (in about 10 turns), and then get into the scramble for supremacy between us, ND and GoW. Ideally the backstab would be ND attacking GoW, leaving us with a plausible shot at a space race victory, but I fear that ND invading us is more likely since they're not committing a great deal to the Lego invasion.

Invasion plans can be found from links in the first post of the Spartan Academy topped thread, and also scattered around in that thread.

Did I miss out anything important?
