    bah

Been there buddy, been there. You shouldn't feel guilty about anything you did, she was a willing participant (I assume!)

is it just you and the girl in Thailand, or are there others on the trip? Talk about awkward.

Don't feel guilty about posting this stuff, its a bit theraputic, being able to post where you are mostly anonymous.

The good news is she is not your wife. I have a few friends that had their wife tell them they found their true love.

Anyway, if she is of age and wants to act like an adult, she has to take the lumps that come with it.

She was a willing participant alright, which makes it all the more stranger. And it was not that things happened because of too much alcohol or so. I know I couldn't help it, but you simply can't not feel guilty after you hear something like that. I'm sorry for the other guy, which I unvoluntarily 'cheated' on. Oh, and of course I know him too, which will be fun the first couple of times I see him.

And yes... Thailand will be only the two of us. Barcelona was supposed to be a test case, to see if we could do something like that all alone. Sigh.

Anyway... more time for the game again

        cheers,
        DeepO

CH, could you ask GoW for rubber, accepted, this turn? It would make it easier for me to run things...

          thanks,

At least she could tie up her shoelaces, eh?

I don't fully understand the expresssion, but if she should have cleaned up before moving on, I fully agree!

Oh well, the shock is a bit over. We'll see what happens next. I do feel like an idiot for not pursuing another girl a couple of weeks ago, as I had a feeling something might happen in Barcelona. grrrhhh... women

Actually I was referring back to an earlier story of yours, DeepO. ISTR you having a GF last year who was not too bright, and you suggested to her that she had some difficulty with her shoelaces, which didn't go down too well.

erh, that wasn't my story, CH. But I can imagine telling something like that to your girlfriend doesn't go down well

Sorry - shoelace story wrongly attributed.

Nearest I've had to your situation, DeepO, was a holiday romance with a beauty from Liverpool. Trouble was, I never heard until later that she still had a boyfriend - and the boyfriend before last hadn't entirely cleared the picture either.

I was invited up to Liverpool one weekend and there was an enraged drunken scouser (also in the British Army) trying to hammer down the door. Nice. Lucky they have stout doors in Liverpool - but OPD could tell us all about that

Another time on a cold winter night I went up there and she wasn't in - 'forgot and went to a party' - apparantly. I spent the night in the car waiting but only got a cold for my efforts.

I'm worried now that the shoelace story came from Vulture, and the girl in question is now his ... wife!

If only she was a holiday romance, I would probably never see her again. The problem is she is one of my dearest friends. But like I said, even if the guilty feeling will probably not disappear the coming days, and I don't have a clue how to handle the Thailand situation, it's relatively ok now. Last night was a shock, but I normally recover fast

                              Wow, DeepO, definitely awkward.

Closest I've had was a trip through Europe with my recently ex-girlfriend (we broke up a few weeks before leaving). We'd booked everything (one room, one bed), so we went ahead.

It was a little strange. But then so was our relationship by that point. Man, what a mess.

                              ...

By the way, in case anyone cares, I'm now formally engaged. I say "formally" since it was a long time in coming, and was no surprise to anyone who knew us. She likes the ring, though, which is good. She BETTER FREAKING LIKE IT!! The jewelry business is such a racket.

Ok, I had to get that out. I'm better now.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.
