Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
diplomatically, it wouldn't be very polite. I'll check the save (I'm starting to play it now), and if any ships are within range, we can just ask Lego to remove them, to avoid escalating into a cold war. It would make it seem as we are not interested in war.
okay, who is ambassador to Lego? There is one caravel within range: the Horatio Nelson.
proposed note to Lego:
Hello,
We noticed that you have a caravel (Horatio Nelson) within unloading range of our coast. While we of course acknowledge your right to scout, could you please move the ship out of range? It would prevent a cold-war like naval buildup in our sea.
Thanks,
GS
I'm not perfectly sure of all positions yet, there are a few more tiles to our South that might also hide a Lego vessel. For the moment, that seems the only one.
are you sure that they have picketed us? Instead of shielding theircoast, they are forted around our coast. I'm sorry if I'm making mistakes, I'm watching the match...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
What do you mean, Krill? I don't understand... They have a line of picket ships on both their West, and their East. It's not all around our coast, and we have spotted the scouts on their Bobian side as well. Of course, they have moved their ships as close to ours as possible, to have the biggest warning time, it's just that in one case, it's a bit closer then we consider polite. Previously, we didn't care, but now it becomes dangerous (well, not the 3 marines that could be loaded on the caravel, of course, it's out of principle we can ask)
no response from VonD, but I know he read it 4 hours ago. And I know he posted it to his forum, as I've seen his name and other legolanders post up as well. wonder how they will respond. Wouldn't it be funny if they declared war? by forcing the issue before they get marines, they either declare war and not do anything for ~5 turns or they back down to a weaker position
they could ignore us, but in that case we simply send 3 destroyers right next to it. I would prefer to keep those hidden for as long as possible, though, only gradually replacing our galleon scouts
My guess is that they will move the galleon 1 tile, to get it out of range. It wouldn't cover the sea as perfectly, but it would still scout our position. The message was polite enough
