  • Turn 204: 890 AD

save has arrived, it seems. I'm still not certain if I can play the save, I will try to leave work early (which should be within 5.5 hours), if that doesn't work I hope someone will play for me. If you don't see the turn report in 8 hours (that is 8pm GMT?), please go ahead.

I won't be home from band until 1am (0000 GMT) tonight. I can play a quickie then if necessary.

        Start
        - GoW sends RP accepted. Accept.

        - Cyclone builds worker, starts worker.

        - D-ville builds harbor. Starts cathedral.

        - SS builds worker, starts worker.

        - 1331 gold, 70%, 571 bpt, -16 gpt
        - 49 workers

        Moves
In general, the specific worker moves are not covered anymore, it gets too tedious. Only important stuff is mentioned.

        - RR on Arashi 9. eta factory -1
        - RR on Inchon 8. eta Aqua -3
        - mine on Eli 77. If loss of the WLTKD doesn't disturb estimates, this should time the harbor perfectly (eta -1)
        - RR on Hurricane 8, 9. eta hospital -1 (and a bit extra, which should help once Hoover is here)

        - RR on D-ville1, 23, 33. with some shuffling and foresting, this should give the cathedral in 2 turns.
        - forest chop on D-ville 8.
        - RR on SA 99 (no effect for now, just adding some extra shields. shuffling next turn and/or chop gets another -1 off eta factory)
        - final worker starts on RR Arashi 99

        - Galley2 moves 8899.
        - our Southern most galley Moves 662, bothering Lego's pickets a bit, they maybe get used to seeing galleys sailing past.
        - our Northern most galleon moves 4444. Will return towards Stormia via the North.
        - Northern most galley moves 333. Spots GoW Galleon.
        - last Galleon (near RP) moves 4488.

        workforce shuffles
        - Cyclone set back to ideal pattern (needs this every turn).
        - blizzard takes coast instead of mined bonus grass
        - SA takes that grass instead of the one closed to D-ville.
        - D-ville takes that grass. Next turn, it can be given back to SA to further speed the factory. eta cathedral -1.
-Typhoon gives one non-bonus grass to Sufa, takes coast instead.

        Current Builds
long term plans for our cities

        Eli : harbor in 3
        Inchon : aqua in 15
WoC : Iron Works in 3
        Inchoff : market in 7
        Diss : cathedral in 2
Santa Ana : factory in 7
        Blizzard : factory in 1
        Monsoon : factory in 1
        Arashi : factory in 1
WW : factory in 7 (loss of WLTKD messed up perfect use of forest chop. Can still do it, if next turn desert is mined.)
        Tempest : hospital in 2
        SS: worker in 2
Hurricane : hospital in 5(chop for -1 after Hoover?)
        OG : factory in 11
EotS : Hoover Dam in 2 (+3 shields, need to be given to Hurricane next turn)
        BB : factory in 1
        Cyclone: worker in 1
Tornado : galleon in 3 (With Hoover, it can give an additional mined grass to Sufa for 2 turns)
        Typhoon : factory in 4
        Sufa : factory in 16

        Other

        - Lego doesn't have Sanitation yet. Vox neither.

        - Lego, GoW have Corp, ND hasn't

        - Neu-Te-Ben is the first city at size 13. I think it is very slightly possible that they build a hospital after factory, but my guess is they build the factory after the hospital. Which is the wrong way, of course.

        - in F11, we're #3 in production again.

        - turn will be sent in 5 minute.

        Next Turn

        - give fur from EotS to Hurricane, taking irr plain.
        - mine WW 2, but recount to make sure extra forest chop will get factory here sooner (not sure)
        - give bonus grass from D-ville to SA. Perhaps shuffling firther to Blizzard, otherwise forest chop SA until eta goes down
        - check Eli, should have eta of 2 on harbor. If not, give hill from Inchon
        - WoC can give mountain to Inchon or Inchoff next turn.

I'm glad you got to it. I totally forgot I was backup backup turnplayer last night when I got home.

My gf and I were online looking at big shiny rocks that cost a LOT of money. But that's another matter.

You're buying polished granite boulders? How weird.

Or... are you getting engaged? If so, congratulations. It seems to be contagious in this team.

Not quite yet. Gotta buy the ring first, fellas.

I'm still struggling with the concept of paying ~ $5000 on an ornament.

Blah. Chalk up one more sucker for the jewelry industry. Bastards!

                      Congrats

I got lucky and was forced to propose while still in college, thus "escaping" with only a ~2500 dollar ring.

Hah, I was in the Navy and out t sea when I bought a double ring. No taxes and only cost about 150 back in 1966. I had to pay twice that a few years later just to clean it up.

$150... yeesh. Even accounting for inflation since 1966, that sounds good.

Sleepy - yeah, but $2500 in college is more than $5000 after several years of gainful employment

Trip - you had respect for me? Awwww.

Dude, you do what ya gotta do. You pick your battles. This is not a battle I want to fight.

She and I are going to present a united front when it comes to wedding invitations, though, which I count myself lucky for.

Hey, it could be worse. I work with a girl who told me she told her boyfriend she wants a 2 carat rock! She has since revised down to 1.5, once she realized what a 2 carat ring would cost. Still! In comparison, my gf is reasonable.

.75 carat round cut diamond (for those who care, probably G or H color, VVS2, with VG-E cut & VG polish), with flanking saphires. Platinum band. I'm hoping to get the stones wholesale and cut the price a little. Maybe I'll manage to come in closer to $4000 than $5000. Maybe.

It sounds like alva's home town(Antwerp) is doing good business again... something like 80% of all diamonds worldwide are traded through there, most of them cut in only a few streets in the Jewish quarter of the city.

Congrats Arrian, I hope you have propse in a memorable fashion, and don't mess it up

When is the wedding going to take place, then?
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
