  • Proposed Message to RP

As we want to keep RP as best-informed as we can, I thought we could update them on how we see our options. Here is a draft missive, sensitive enough I guess to require team approval and editing.

This summary might help to focus ourselves too. I'm not sure where to float such proposed missives, so I wait to be advised on that.

Perhaps it would be good if any requests, orders, our immediate proposed moves or other info could be included. What do you think?

    Greetings Togas,

We are trying to use the GoW bug delay to hammer out and communicate plans with yourselves. Discussions continue, but here are some of the ideas on the table:

    1) a landing at Yellowknife 233 in 310AD of 8 Knights and 8 Pikes, followed by 10 more units, to quickly take the initiative from the enemy and to ease pressure on the South. Reinforcements would also be supplied to the South.

    2) land a large stack of pikes/med inf, and immediately send the galleys south after that. Meanwhile, horsemen from the north move down into Stormia proper, while we upgrade fastmovers down there. The galleys assemble in a few turns and then bring a horde of knights to S. Spain.

    3) all out Knight attack in North with what's immediately or nearly available

    4) building up to a 40+ unit onslaught of GoW.

    5) diverting our Northern buildup to an all out effort in the South.

Also, one of our Generals was wondering about your gold situation and spending needs at the moment.

    Regards, etc

I might just say that we're planning a landing against the GoW on or about 310AD, and that at the same time, we're working on reinforcing the South. Further, we've got a problem in the form of several ND galleys coming up the coast. We may need their assistance in dealing with that.

Finally, again, I really think they need to withdraw their forces from Pamp1, and hole up inside the city. They cannot afford to lose Pamp.

We won't have 8 pikes to land. It will be more like 12 knights/4 pikes, or 10/6.

Draft Missive to Togas, v2.0 :

        Greetings Togas,

We are planning a landing against the GoW on or about 310AD, and that at the same time, we're working on reinforcing the South.

We've got a problem in the form of several ND galleys coming up the coast. We are building more galleys to meet them, but we may need your assistance in the process. Do you have any galleys in the area which could participate in a co-ordinated attack?

Also, we are concerned about Pamplona, which must not fall. It is being been urgently suggested by our military brass that you should withdraw forces from Pamp1 and defend the city.

        Yours etc

Fine with me. Is there anything else to add? What about the gold/spending question in the original? Was it Theseus that wanted that info (wasn't me)?

            Also detailed unit deployment again.

Apparantly Togas' PC is fried this week (s.b. on the log), so Arnelos will be getting this when it's ready. I sent him point 3 about Pamplona in the acknowledgement, as I thought that one couldn't wait.

              Here's v2.1

We are planning a landing against the GoW on or about 310AD, while working simultaneously on reinforcing the South.

We've got a problem in the form of several ND galleys coming up the coast. We are building more galleys to meet them, but we may need your assistance in the process. Do you have any galleys in the area which could participate in a co-ordinated attack?

I believe I mentioned before about our concern for Pamplona, and that the forces outside at Pamp-1 would be best withdrawn into the city to defend it.

Our Generals also seek information on your gold situation and spending needs at the moment, and also for detailed unit deployment.

May your God smile upon your Holy legions etc ...

If you mentioned Pamp already, I don't think you need to mention it again... I don't want to make them feel like we're berating them.

Otherwise, it's fine. Thanks for doing this.
