I am SO sorry, everyone.
Due to lack of time or just damn attention, I take the blame for Turns 260 and 270.
I was not available for consultation with nye while Turn 260 was played... and therein lay the problem.
I did not sufficiently communicate to nye my plan... that on Turn 260, beyond true-fortifying the 3 Pikes and 8 Knights moved to the planned Fort Liberation, we would complete a road at FLib6, and consolidate the majority of our forces in FLib.
In a review of the end-of-T260, we would have had in FLib:
5 Pikes
12 Knights
7 MedInf
7 Cats
1 stealth Settler
In other words, 24 defensive combatant units, which, on a hill and with the Cats, I deemed to be more or less unassailable by estimated local enemy forces.
FLib 3 and 6 would have each had 2 Pikes... bait, and on T270, when FLib would have been built, attackable by the Knights. I did not consider FLib 63 to be a danger zone.
I was also considering the sacrifice of 1 Knight on a recon mission to the gold hill at FLib87, for visibility in the entire Alamo / Merida basin, which was the only locale for an Ansar threat.
A couple of thoughts:
* nye, nor any one or two players, can manage this game. Everyone needs to focus / comment / critique, especially at these key junctures.
* Military plans need to be more completely and clearly spelled out, at the level of our economic plans. Unfortunately, style-wise, Arrian and I are similar, and not as micro / detailed oriented as we need to be. We need to be supplemented by an adjutant or something, in order to provide great specificity to the player(s).
If anyone would like me to resign my post, that is fine. Again, I am so sorry... I'd fall on my sword if I could.
