I hesitate to say much before I read more on this forum, but the tale tells of a great nation wronged by twisted propaganda. At some point I'd love to catch up on the details of the tech trade deal that went sword-shaped, but what a victory! (and a click on the 'buy Arrian a pint' button).

Unfortunately the Vox hired the PR firms to circulate atrocity-stories, did they? So tragic, and so real. I'll bet there were plenty of these on their forum. Nations facing a coalition of everybody might be expected to face destruction and conquest, but at least they can go down fighting.

I'm already hooked.

re the Vox war- I would especially recommend the thread Immortal Beloved in the open forum, would give you good understanding I think of everything. Lots of blood, all around in that thread and other threads. Also note in those threads how one of the main antagonists was Togas and others of RP. My how things have changed. Much nicer to be on this team than, saw GoW which harbors grudges throughout the game and makes....interesting choices (allying with their neighbor ND to attack RP, quite a hike, we expected to jump in hitting RP to save ND)

I'm going to try to go over the more detailed info on the game in the next couple of days, so that I understand a little better the position we're in and where we're going.

We're in a nasty war right now, and we've just lost a decent sized chunk of our forces in the south of Spain (now no man's land). The enemy has 3-move UUs, are in their GAs, and one of 'em just built Leonardos.

We have our own advantages (Sun Tzu, Great Lighthouse, Colossus, Great Wall), but it sure looks like an uphill fight right now.

Also concerning the Vox war

- That everyone else knew about it before it happened.

- That the other nations primarily RP played a part in "persuading" Vox to attack us.

- Vox sold tech and pre-sold their free MA tech to the other nations to fund the upgrades for the war.

- The other civs were in on it from the start and were in support of Vox, the crap in the public forum was a reflection of this.

- In addition to GoW's 6 units RP had agreed to land units on our land as part of the free MA tech deal. Which they tried to change to supplying them Iron instead after Inchon but eventually didn't fulfill at all.
