  • Backup when Apolyton is down

For those who are not aware, MZO (http://central.masterzen.net) has backup forums for the PTW Democracy Games.

I know Theseus is registered there... so are DeepO, FrustratedPoet, and Asleepatthewheel (right?)... but I'm a little fuzzy on who else is.

Anyway, the people who really need to be there are our players (NYE, Shiber - right?), but ideally all of our active members ought to check in if 'poly goes down for an extended period - particularly if we're aware our turn is coming up, so that we can keep on rolling along.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

I am registered. I can check in if Poly is down when the turn arrives. I do have some misgivings though. The admin of that board has vowed that GS will not win this game. I do not know him well enough to say, but I would rather not discuss our situation there.

I really, really, really don't think Master Zen would abuse his power as admin to gain an advantage over us. There is no guarantee, I suppose, as all we have is his word. But I just don't think he'd do that.

If Ghengis was the admin, I might share your concern.

I'm mad and angry at Master Zen and avoid MZO for that matter, but even I don't think he'd go that far to abuse his powers.

I am not saying he would or wouldn't. I do not know the man well enough. But the potential exists, and if things do not go well for us, or go too well...

Well, without trust in the security of the forum, we can't really use MZO as a backup, then.

Feel free to make use of my forum at the candle'bre site, or on the renaissance portal....neither are private, but nobody goes to the renaissance forum any more, and definitely no one from here....

I trust MZO in this regard.

I don't think MZ would cheat like this... but I don't know the guy, and in general I believe a bit too much in the honesty of mankind. GoW deceives, yes, but cheating? Nah...

I will go along with the wishes of the team. If I am the only one cautious, then there is most likely nothing to fear. As I said, I do not know the guy.

                        Don't ask Sir Ralph!!

Seriously, although emotions have run high in the public forum, I have seen nothing but good in MZ's demeanor otherwise.

For what it's worth, I also doubt Master Zen would abuse his powers over at MZO just to get at us in this game. Generosity and spite are two traits that rarely live together in the same person.

I bet he wants people to use his site more than he wants to win the PTWDG!
