  • New town name

Can I just propose Mistral as the name of one of the new towns we are founding (or is that too French for some of our American Stormers )

    Mistral is fine by me.

        Mistral sounds great.

There is this name for an area with no winds in the ocean- I don't remember it, but it sounds pretty good- also good for peace-time town. If anyone knows what I'm talking about (I'm sure someone does)- it can be used for our next city...

We can't run out of city names. I just discovered a website with hundreds of regional wind names. It's in German, but I think that doesn't matter.

            Here's the link: http://www.mondorf-wetter.de/regiowi..._regiowind.htm

Oh, and yes, I'm convinced we need that many names!

I can't bear these Voxian and Spanish names.

After Mistral, Scirocco is a hot candidate. We also need a Föhn and a Höllentäler, to represent my region and to annoy the hell out of you non-umlauters . To comfort our American friends, Chinook is in order (Rocky region). Chocolatero (Mexican) sounds sweet, no? There's a lot of good names in.

                        Arrian- it's not french actually.

I can't believe I forgot the name... you know, an area in the ocean where there's almost no wind- and sail ships are kind of "stuck" or are moving very slowly

And what is Mistral if not French?

                              Etymology of 'mistral':

1604, from French., from Provencal mistral, literally "the dominant wind," from mistral (adj.) "dominant," from Latin magistralis "dominant," from magister "master."

Provencal is a group of dialects from southern France.
