Beta came down to 60 gold. I offered lump sum (it avoids a situation where we have to declare war to cut off the flow of funds, he wanted 10gpt for 6 turns).

There are no strings attached on the gold grant. We are throwing Vox a bone. Beta admitted that they do not need the gold to speed up the Voxodus. They need the gold to maintain more of their forces. By giving it to them, we avoid unpleasantness that we might run into should we insist on the time table with no gold. Vox will point to the mention of 18 turns, we will point to the ASAP wording. We will once again have to engage in a PR battle.

I feel the 60 gold to get them gone, quietly, is well worth it. Having all of their cities in our control in 5 or 6 turns puts a nice light on the next little while.
