  • Turn 114, 290 BC

    Nothing interesting.
We seem to be researching Engineering at 60% (Nathan...?) and at a -2 deficit. When I lower research to 0% we have an income of +52.

Edits to this post are very much welcome.

It looks like I probably checked to see what kind of research rate we could manage without running a deficit and forgot to set the slider back. Sorry about that.

My inclination is not to try to reinforce up north any more beyond delivering the troops already loaded. It looks like the peace treaty is on, so I'd like to reserve fairly heavy forces to shadow RP's galley. Besides, if Vox would try a last-minute doublecross, we could punch through Dissidentville pretty quickly and renforce by land.

I need to play the turn pretty quickly, but if anyone has any thoughts in the next few minutes, please let me know. Sorry about not getting to the turn sooner.

What is there that needs attention at the moment. Nathan is more than capable of arranging our forces sensibly, and all the cities have build orders tying them up for the next few turns. Galley scouting wants to wait until we have sold our maps, in case we discover something interesting. Worker movements are by standing order I believe. Unless RPs galley, or Vox have done something unexpected, this turn looks to be pretty much done by rote.

Is anyone contacting Lego, GoW and RP wrt selling our WM?

Not having actually played PBEM, I'm not sure of the mechanics, but is it possible to put an unaccepted offer of our WM on everyone's tables this turn to get negotiations moving? I'm assuming there is no way they can put in some offer (or nothing) and take it withouth further requiring our approval, so we can't have the map stolen.

If so, it could be an idea to hurry things up by giving the offer to everyone at the same time so that we don't have to wait for negotiations to finish seperately to get something going. Having the offer on screen in front of them might speed up other teams in getting a response.

If we put up the offer and they offer something back, that turns up the pressure to go ahead and complete the deal instead of setting up simultaneous deals with everyone. My feeling is that simultaneous deals probably work better with the negotiations conducted outside the game's mechanics.

GoW said yes for a Map-Map trade, but I think we should try and get the rest to pay at least a little bit for it, because there's no way GoW would pass on the chance of whoring it around.
