Walls: I haven't tested this myself, but I've read a very comprehensive study of how bombardment works on CFC and it concluded that walls will always be targetted first (or naval fortresses, in the case of naval bombardments).

Galleys: I would recommend sending the cat, three pikes and four medinfs (leaving behind one pike and one medinf).

I just tested and cats definitely target the walls first. It looks like on average Walls in a Hill town get taken down by cats on the 5th shot. The range in my 20 tests was 1-14+ (ran out of cats), so it's mostly a crapshoot though.

If our walls stay up, that gives every Pike a boost of what amounts to a hp. If our walls get taken down, they were worth a hp of a single Pike for the turn. Also the walls give us ZOC (at least I think it's walls that do that?), so Vox's units take some damage if they try to make it back to their core instead of attacking us.

I'm 99% sure that walls don't give ZOC. It's fortresses or bombardment units / tanks that give you ZOC.
I got one of the stats wrong though - walls give you a bombardment defense of 8. That means that Vox has a chance of ~70% of taking down our walls with 3 cats or less.

I agree with Aeson's argument re Walls: even if they they get taken down, that's Pike hps that have been saved... even if we rush re-build a couple of times, to me that's directly translating our (currently excess) gold into hps.

I'd say let's prioritize Pike and Cat re-inforcements at Inchon... I think we stand to benefit from an Artillery duel, and then our MedInfs can come out of the gates facing damaged Pikes.

Let D-ville and Inchoff stand for the moment.

Cool! Then I'm all for it.
Now what about Inchoff? Would anyone like to have a temple there, to increase our range of sight and to force Vox to approach Inchoff at 1 tile per turn?

I'm all for rushing walls on Inchon, gives us a little more breathing space. as for Inchoff I don't think we should rush anything. Vox doesn't plan to take it anytime soon, or so it seems.

Also, I think it would most wise of us to put some units, on the Iron tile- If Vox pulls off the Pike 8 of there (unlikely, but still...) we could threaten D'ville. But even if we don't want to take it or Vox doesn't clear the Pike- this still means some of Vox's forces are occupied where they do no good, and we have a closer boarding point for the western shuttle service.

Any comments on my suggestion to have the next eastern ferry send forces to their core? this could mean the end of the war.

I'm all in favor of such a plan, but I'd like to see how well Inchon does first.

My thought for the east is to land four cats and two MedInfs to try to bust through the mountains. That (especially combined with an eastern coastal road) would make for much shorter galley trips for reinforcements than trying to send our galleys all the way around to Vox's core.

We just have about half an hour left to play the turn. Two issues:

                      1) We're decided on four pikes, three vet MedInfs, and a cat for this reinforcement wave?

                      (2) Do we want to attack Vox's immortals this turn or wait until next? We probably need to attack this turn, even though a couple immortals have two hit points left, if we want to load up our galleys next turn for an Inchoff breakout. (An alternative would be to have our eastern road crew go 9 instead of 8 and bring in a vet MedInf from Arashi; that would let us attack with three cats next turn and load four.)

                        1) I dunno about the others, but I'm okay with that. Zeit (IIRC) wanted to prioritize pikes, and I suppose that he would be satisfied since there are more pikes than medinfs in this shipment.

                        2) Is there any reason in particular why we would want to attack the SS immortals this turn? If not, then I guess we can wait for next turn.
Btw, do you want to send a medinf to attack the spear 8 of Inchon? It's a potential pike if Vox can get iron even for one turn, and there are two units on that tile so we won't move into it if we win.

I went ahead and loaded the pikes, and I parked a pike each at M 9-9 and M 9-6 to discourage Vox from going after a pair of workers I have ready to road M-9.

The problems with delaying the eastern attack are (1) we'll lose a turn roading around the east to Dissidentville, and (2) we'll have to divert a vet MedInf from loading onto western galleys quite as soon.

The only MedInf in a position to attack I8, by the way, is wounded, so we don't need to be attacking there this turn.
