  • Turn 110, 370 BC

To be edited by the leaders of the Scholia.

    Status:

    - 466 gold, + ~107 gpt

Check this and every turn to see if we lost some war unweariness due to the killing of troops within cultural borders and therefore must readjust the lux slider.

    Urgent questions:
    - Can we come up with a peace plan both we and Vox can live with (possibly involving a large-scale Voxian migration to another continent?)
    - What do we do with our gold? Research? Rush build?

    Military:
    - Attack the mountains by Hurricane, or wait another turn?
    - Move troops to reinforce Inchon. We have four galleys we can load, so we need to decide on a force mix.

    Economy:

    TBD.

    Diplomacy:
    - See urgent question #1.

    Thread library:
    - Standing orders for workers (Orders last revised April 5.)

I went ahead and went through the production phase and the traditional cat attack. Only two hits this time, which makes up for the good luck we had with them last turn. So Vox has two immortals with two hit points left and three with one left.

Vox's forces near Inchon are as follows:
    • I8: Two vet spears.
      I8-9: One vet spear.
I3: Three cats, a vet pike, a regular pike, three healthy vet immortals, and a wounded vet immortal.
I3-3: A healthy vet pike, a 1/4 wounded vet pike, a regular pike, and a regular immortal.
I3-3-2: Three vet immortals and four regular immortals.

Note that Vox is pulling the rest of their southern forces back toward Dissidentville. The stack at D2 is a vet pike and three regular immortals.

That was weird... sorry for the extra posts! I just wanted to say that if they don't, and we drop off the next batch up north, we might be killing lots of Warriors.

It's 3 turns to Wittlich right?

I think Inchon needs it's walls rushed this turn. They can have at least 11 Immortals and 3 Cats come to bear the turn after next.

Vox has no horses or iron.

In regard to Inchon, depending on the force mix we use, we could have up to ten pikes by the time they can hit us with those eleven immortals, plus a cat, four vet MedInfs, and two elite WCs. (Or we could go with fewer pikes and more MedInfs if we want to bet on having at least a couple pikes win their first fights without taking more than one hit point of damage.)

I'm inclined to stage our defence/offense at Inchon- It seems like Vox is planning for an "all-or-nothing" assault on Inchon.
If we bear the brunt of their attack, they'll have nothing to fight to war with.

But, since they seem to be doing nothing with regard to Inchoff- it could survive for at least a few turns- perhaps we could use the next eastern shuttle to stage some offensive on their heartland?

Zeit, congratulations on joining a new ISP. I hope that they're as good as they advertise themselves to be.

I'm against walls in Inchon, not as long as Vox has 3 catapults, which gives them a chance of ~80% at knocking down our walls with three shots or less. Let's rush a temple instead.

And the truth isn't what you want to see,
Close your eyes, and let music set you free..."

Any dilemmas this turn other than walls/temple/nothing in Inchon?

Has anyone tested (or otherwise verified with certainty) whether walls are always targeted first over troops, or just over city improvements? If not, I'd appreciate it if someone would do that. (I'd do it myself if I weren't in the middle of the turn.)

We need to decide the exact force mix to load on our four galleys. We have four pikes, a cat, and (if I remember right) five vet MedInfs to choose eight units from.
