Yeah, Sir Ralph you (and NYE, IIRC) have every right to say "I told you so."

Arguably we/you (I wasn't here at the time obviously) did have a suitable military, taking Grog into consideration. He provided enough warning to get a sufficient defense in place, and now we have a stronger military than Vox (we think), and spent much of the early game on Rexxing and building infrastructure. So we've managed to get the best of both worlds.

Admittedly, Vox had the potential to hurt us earlier in the war, which is an argument the other way. Considering the number of bloodthirsty warmongers on this team, I was amazed how little military we had when I first joined...

I believe our builders outnumber our warmongers...

Can't separate the two, building helps the warmonger... warmonger helps the builder. I think we were rather perfectly balancing the two given our situation.

            What Aeson said.

I'm a warmonger in SP but I know that a marketplace today might provide for 5 knights tomorrow. Our strategic situation was pretty unenviable and we managed, with the help of the free settler, to turn it into a solid start. But we had to really max out our REX/infrastrusture to do it.

Still, all things considered, I do think that it would have been better had we paid a *little* more heed to Sir Ralph's and NYE's warnings. We needed every turn that Grog gave us, PLUS mistakes by Vox to prevent us from losing cities.

I'll notify Lego tomorrow that they should send our save to me too, unless anyone objects.

We pulled it off- somehow. Like in real life- success or failure is rarely caused by one factor. Our production meant those turns we got from Grog and Vox's mistakes was enough to tip the balance (which is no in our favor- Woohoo!). I wish I was here in those tense and very unique moments.
And I also wish I had an understanding girlfriend such as Amy- she hates Vox, mine just hates me when I talk about the game...
