  • A (possible) way around eliminating Civs

A few turns back one of our players (Hot_Enamel) unwillingly found a way to kill off a ghost-ship and thus avoid the crash which would have normally kept them indefinitely alive. I will make it public for the sake of common interest...

There was a turn in which Vox accidentally sent us a 10gpt deal. When I played the save, I obviously did not accept the deal and proceeded to attempt to kill Lego... and it crashed. Hot_Enamel also opened that save but he did not know that we had to cancel the gpt deal so he accepted it. For some wierd reason he WAS able to kill off Lego's transport. Thinking it might have been some miracle with his PC, I told him to try doing the same without accepting, but his save also crashed.

So apparently there's some correlation with gpt deals and the crash when killing off a civ. Thinking that Vox would not be willing to help us get rid of Lego by sending us another gpt deal, I asked GS to send us one. Alas, on that turn, the Lego transport which had been shadowed by our ships slipped inside Voxian territory and there was nothing that we could do about it.

Anyways, maybe this is some food for thought on how to get over the bug.

    Just a little more info...

I asked MZ why he didnt kill lego.
He told me of the bug, and try to do it on my PC.
I just accepted all through the screens at the start of the turn, and killed Lego with our destroyer.
    No crash.

It took a while to figure out why...I followed MZ's turn report and declined the 10gpt from Vox...and the game crashed when Lego was destroyed.

One thing I did notice, was that the "trade bug" transferred itself from Lego to Vox.

By accepting the 10gpt from Vox, I was able to kill Lego. But I then couldnt open any trade screen with Vox without the game crashing.
