Ghost Armies in Monkeyland
Supernatural Pillage & Plunder Mystifies Comedian Troops
SIEGE PERILOUS - 28th July 330AD
Pythonian and Izzardian field commanders called a press conference today to announce a strange and possibly metaphysical phenomenon sweeping across southern Comedia.
"There is a fourth military force operating on the front lines, but we can't see it" explained Field Marshal Reg, of the Pythonian People's Popular Front brackets Officials close brackets.
"It lays waste to field and town alike" added Brigadier Eyeliner of the Izzardian 7th TV Action Brigade, "but it seems to leave armies intact as neither our nor Monkey's forces have so far been attacked."
Questions soon switched to the progress of the war with the Monkeys.
"Erm, well", began Brigadier Eyeliner, "Dunno really. Every time we go anywhere the Army of the Dead seems to get there first. There have been rumours in the ranks about some bloke running around in no-man's land shouting "Elendil!", but I don't think anyone's taking that too seriously. Besides, the Comedian Merlot has been flowing in abundance recently."
"We should add", finished Field Marshal Reg, "that suggestions of the MAST government being involved in this affair are entirely unsubstantiated. They are our good friends and we hope to buy some Iron from them one day."
The war continues.
