You'd be complaining more if there were no iron on the entire map!

Unless I'm mistaken there was once Iron on your continent?

It think the real question is where's the balance?
        Are we having fun yet?

There was a source of iron. Python had it. It depleted.

Since the iron thing is now obvious to all who can read the map, I'll let you in on some amusing divine justice from the RN God:

In preparation for our combined assault on Monkey, Python and CoD agree that we would swap our resources - our horses for Python's iron, so they could build some horsemen and we could do a warrior -> sword upgrade.

So CoD dutifully built 12 veteran warriors. We did the trade. We marched the warriors towards the city we planned on upgrading them in (we wanted to upgrade exactly 1 turn prior to launching the invasion, so if/when Monkey noticed the large power spike from our upgrade, it would be too late for them to do much about it). Exactly 2 turns before the scheduled upgrade, the iron vanished.

12 vet warriors who were now drawing 1gpt each in pay, could not be upgraded, and provided no MP benifit. The only thing they were good for was coastwatching and barb fighting.

So Monkeys, even if you lose this war, be comforted in the knowledge that the RN God is with you.

Oh, how the gods tease us so. I can hear them laughing at our expense. They laugh so hard they shed tears. Then I have to roll up my chariot windows.

                  Gee, that's a shame.

The problem is you assume that this was the act of the RN god. In fact, it is Mother Nature who is making you pay for your desecration of this earth and the unprovoked attack on the simians. She is and always will be, on our side.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

MAST is just lazy. You have iron, it's just you have to get up and walk south a bit to get it. Sheesh! Get moving!

CoD would KILL for that source of iron. Well, we'd kill for less, obviously (Monkey's land).

And the PROPER response from MAST should have been:

                            "There is no Iron, anywhere."

Preferably said whilst swordsmen were being trained in the background.
