Go with succession style. With the release of Civ IV whether we like it or not the interest in CIV III is going to decline. Its just a natural progression of the series.
My guess is it will decline quicker than Civ II did when III was released.
So if we are going to do another one keep the succession format, it is more informal and can be done with less players, hence increasing its chance of success.

I have liked the last two Sxn Style Demo games. Rome was more fun though. More people participated. It was a very active Sxn Democracy. I hope that we could get that kind of commitment back.

I'm going to limit myself to a maximum of three PBEMs in Civ4 and no democracy games or group games. Maybe a slow 8 player PBEM, a nice 3 player game, and a very fast 2 player game with someone in my time zone. Will you be Rome again, Paddy?
