  • the reign of Roadishi

    /roleplay

Hiyoshi walked along the quiet roadway, but his mind was in the midst of a controversy. What to tell the new Daiymo? What to ask for his great life work? The thoughts swirled on the approached Roadishi's pagoda but to no avail. So Hiyoshi decided to lay out the options.

There are no wonders, small or otherwise available in the buildlist. Just some low cost buildings. Certainly none that are appropriate for a great life's work.

We do not control enough cities to form an army.

We do have a settler unit that will muster out with the next build cycle.

So the question is where to send that settler. Three possibilities
.. the hills 6,3,3 from bullwheat (2 movement turns)
.. the hills 8,8 from bullwheat (1 movement turn)
.. the plains 4,1,1 from Tottori (4 movement turns)

The evil Matsunagas have a settler/stone archer pair poised to close out the site north of Bullwheat.

    We can block (this turn)
pw 888 from bullwheat moves to bullwheat
    joining next turn
slave 888 from bullwheat moves 4
    roading next turn
3 slaves 3 from Tottori move 6 and mine immediate
stone crossbow in Tottori moves 3,6,9
Tottori specialist changes from magistrate to Geisha
6 slaves 7 from Hiyoshi Stronghold move 1,2,3
    roading next turn

Next turn make settler heading 6,3 then 3 then build
site will be road connected when built.
Add back that pw building another settler in 3

Hiyoshi continued on to the pagoda with his thoughts back in order. Hoping that Roadishi will agree

I was thinking about a city 88 of Bull Wheat to allow building armies and raise the unit support. After this build some more bushi and go to Matsunaga to get our cities back. Probably we could destroy them but this is a long-term plan.

It could be really nice to make some trades and bring us on tech parity. I hoped to discover more opponents in this direction but it seems this will not happen. we will need a boat to do this.

88 apears to be the most defendable city spot of the three mentioned.

How soon until the cease fire with the evil matsunaga expires and we can honarably declare war?

Considering that we would need to reach a total of 8 cities to support a second army, if we get a second MGL any time soon it will need to go to a small wonder. The first Small Wonder adviable requires Shinto Precepts and will make the chosen coastal city a wonderful city indeed.

I dont think we need to advance towards Oda anymore. We need to take care of the Matsunaga and the other nations to the south. After this go north.

Matsunaga are the most important because they are small, they have 2 luxuries and are behind us, too near to our capital.

                  trading possibilities

                  All knowns have mapmaking
All knowns except Matsunaga have Shinto Precepts

No MM deals possible but can get SP from
                  Saito wm 5gpt 31g
                  or
                  Urukami wm 5gpt 32

now Matsunaga has 17g and will most likely give
                  wm 17g for SP

                  so suggest
                  tm Urakami (1 g)
wm to Urakami (est 1 g)
                  wm 5gpt 31 g to Saito (SP)
SP to Matsugnaga (est wm 17g)
                  this refreshes our wm so
wm to Saito (est 1 g)
                  wm to Urakami (est 1g)

                  net cost for SP
                  5 gpt 10 g

                  please discuss

One directional thing : "North" is actually the path to locations in Japan southwest of us. "South" is actually the path to locations in Japan northeast of us.

Just as confusing as when your in the Panama Canal, to go from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean you go west and when you want to go from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean you go east.
