  • do we accept the following as our Clan Law?

Thank you one and all for your participation in the polls and threads to get us this far.

We have yet to determine which clan we will be playing in the Sengoku - Sword of the Shogun conquests Scenario.

This poll is a simple yes or no, do we accept the following as our Clan Law? This is all open to negotiation and change, so please add your thoughts.

    -----------------------------------

    1. Our people are led by the Daimyo and the Samurai of the Clan

    2. Each Samurai has a vote
2.1. All Samurai to be registered in The Scroll of the Samurai

    3. The Daimyo is successively rolled through a list of players that are on The Eternal Scroll of Daimyos
3.1. Please feel free to add your name to the list.
3.2. The nominated player needs to be a member of the Civ 3 Demo Game Civ Group.
3.3. Names may be added to the list at any time.
3.4. If a name is added to the list after it has been rolled over, they will need to await until their Family name is called according to the list.

    -----------------------------------

    The order of play:

    The Initial Save is posted

The Daimyo opens a discussion thread so that the Samurai can gather and discusses the situation.

Then, if required, the Daimyo starts a poll(s) to give the Samurai a last opportunity to provide guidance before the Daimyo starting his turns

The Daimyo then goes on and plays a series of 10 turns each during the pre-daimyo era [1st], and then 5 turns during the early [2nd], late [3rd], and post [4th which is empty]

The Daimyo then comes back and:
    - start a thread for their reign and in here write up a report (this can be done with assistance of other Samurai
    - the save is posted in the Sacred Save thread for everyone to look over
    - pictures, maps etc are posted in their Reign thread

These turn sessions can be interrupted by emergencies that need to be sort by the Samurai. Thus some sessions would only be the turns until the emergency is declared. Then the Daimyo continues until his number of turns have been completed.

    The final save is posted

    This ends the Daimyo’s reign

We then move the reign to the next Samurai Family that is listed on The Eternal Scroll.

If that Great Family is not able to take up the Clan, then the next Family on the list will be invited to step forward.

Once all names on the list have been exhausted, we will start at the top of the list.

This scenario has many turns. Therefore the reason to limit the number of turns per Daimyo to 5 (as done for the relatively short RoR scenario) is not appropriate.

Amend the number of turns per Daimyo from 5 to 10.

only hassle I have with that is the time that each Daimyo would need to do 10 turns...

and then it takes longer to work through the list

and thus can take the edge off Clan enthusiasim

I think were going to have too many interested people for 10 turns at a time for the entire game.

Remember that Relms of Civilization conquests games tended to have only 4 or 5 team members.

Early on a human making 10 turns isn't a problem for time commitments, but evenually they'd be a point that we'd need to drop down to 5. Shoot, our last emperors reported how time consuming 5 turns were.

Roadcage & Paddy, how about a compromise, 10 turns each during the pre-daimyo era [1st], and then 5 turns during the early [2nd], late [3rd], and post [4th which is empty]

What era it is measured by our tech progress.

I'd probably add a position like the Pater Patriae of the previous game - the Emperor, maybe?
