  • the reign of Maximus Meadae II 65 AD-

    Senators of Rome,

Having heard the voices that spoke, we have decided the following on the issues that have been discussed the last few days.

    1. On the matter of build orders it is felt that there's no strong signal from the senate to pursue building galleys to rule the seas. Therefore, it has been decided to maintain a fleet of galleys that supports fast travel of units and focus on growth.

    2. It has been noted that the production of units to support the war should not be neglected.

    3. New Hippo, Leptis Minor, Hippo & New Sabratha will be abandoned as they are improductive now and without any usefell perspectives. Siwa, El-Amarna and Giza will be defended. It has rightfully been addressed by some senators that walls and temples have allready been erected in these cities.

    4. The majority of the senate feels that the Goths will be our next target. For that matter, troops will be located on the border with the Goths.

These will be th initial guidelines for the rule of Maximus Meadae II.

    Rush builds:
    8 aquaducts
    3 harbors
    2 granaries
    4 infarmaries
    1 barracks

    Diplomacy:
The emperor whishes to apologise for a slip in negotiations with Scythia. By accident wines were offered without anything in return. A request for a counter offer was intended.
Egypt has accepted some of our fine wines and gave us 5 gold and a worker in return.

Carthage and Persia signed for peace.
Quite a few HC died to Macedonian HC.

I wouldn't have made that 20 turn trade with Egypt, it's just going to screw our rep when Egypt gets disconnected from our trade network due to Carthigan and/or Persian action.

Unless your thinking that we are likely to wipe out Macedonia before all our current MAs against them expire anyway?

What do we need a reputation for? We were recently picking our next civ to erase from the map, not our next ally.

Basically, the penalty for a trade route being broken by any means is that the AI will no lower pay up front items in exchange for a 20 turn item + the AI will no longer accept GPT payments for an up front item for the remainder of that game.

By making that deal with Egypt, we may have acted in a matter that will preclude any more selling of wine and getting up front payment an in addition precluded things like buying more workers for GPT.

That is the more minor of the two.

On breaking a MA (including by winning the war ) the penalty is no more MAs.

This could result in fairly quickly being at war with all remaining civs at the same time for pretty much the rest of the game.

I strongly object to any idea of abandoning the former Carthaginian cities.

Any act by the Emperor to do so should be considered treason by the Senate. Remember - the vote was clearly in favour of keeping them!

It was not an obvious vote. It was a 3 to 4 vote when I started the reign. Furthermore, senator Roadcage offered a compromise which was to the liking of the emperor.

On the contrary sir, they were engaged in building Fortresses to ensure that PolyRoman Carthage remains eternally Roman!

I trust they are still doing so!
