  • Pater Patriae Nuclaereus

    /me raises right hand.

I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of the Pater Patriae of the Glorious Roman State, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Senate of the Roman Empire.

Post here if you have any tips, congratulations, advice, complaints, suggestions, or anything regarding the Pater Patriae Nuclaereus.

My first act as Pater Patriae will be to send messengers all around our Nation to better inform my constituents. I have recently done well in some economic matters, and I will be building a grande building for the people of Rome, but as to what it is, will be kept a secret for a bit more.

    --Signed,
    Pater Patriae Nuclaereus

And are you sending out any news emails linking to all currently important threads ??

This is a position that requires some work you know not just a means to wear a fancy Toga

There currently are none, as there is no Emperor.

This thread looks to be closed due to lack of interest

Not surprising really....when the second post is a bump to remind people to read the first post

Petty arguments are inappropriate for you to involve yourself into, except as to bring peace to the Senate, and it is your job to maintain this order and peace above all else.
                2. Fluidity. You must keep the Senate flowing along. Turns must be played in the correct order and in a reasonable time frame. You are responsible for ensuring emperors know when their turn is up, and when they should play the turns by. Also you should inform Emperors of any information that is pertinent from previous reigns that they may need but not have.
                3. History. You are expected to maintain a log of the events of the Roman Empire, and occasionally send this log to those interested in such things. This may take the form of the Senate Newsletter or something similar. Those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.
                4. Levity. You are expected to maintain the levity of mood amongst the Senators while not discussing vital matters. That means you are expected to relax once in a while in a Tavern of your choosing. Funds have been appropriated every year to keep such an establishment open and well stocked. (You must also keep a stock of Glen Morangie Single Malt Whiskey on hand, in honor of your predecessor. And Diet Cherry Coke, for me.)
                5. Elucidity. You are expected to teach those new members of the group the rules, and how to play by them. You are also expected to remind those who play the game of the appropriate rules when relevant, and to be the mediator of disputes regarding them.

These are the responsibilities of the Pater Patriae and they must be met to the letter before a candidate considers himself fit for the position.

                Thank you.

                        Lord Nuclear,

Rome thanks you for your work and efforts here in our Senate.

It is the hope of all that your next adventure, serving the Legions of Rome, will be as good for you as it will be for Rome.

Travel safe, and we look forward to your return from the campaign.
