Polls will follow shortly the following is just my thoughts and some action I already took. I could not have ended this turn with out making changes.
I have spent many hours looking at the save handed to me by the last Emporer Senator Skrobism. I have made several changes and moved several units.
Firstly i have used any heavy cav and legion units that had movement left and could make kills to do so.
In particular I moved a garrison unit from Conopolis to Optima Forma, this town had a Scythian rider outside and only a fire catapult to defend it. This however still meant the enemy unit had two worker targets to attack so i moved a Heavy cav from the lost dreams garrison to kill the threat which it did with no loss of health.
I used the Heavy cav in stolen wine to attack the archer at 4 which it killed and recaptured a worker formerly captured by the celts. The cav was promoted to elite and is slightly injured at 3 of 5 hitpoints left. The recovered worker moved 3 to the protection of a Legion.
In olbia there were two legions with movement left so I attacked and killed a carth elite HC and redlined a carth elephant who retreated to 7 4 of olbia. no promotions but no HP loss.
We had three towns building citizens and several building galleys I have changed most build orders throughout the empire to Legions HC and garrisons units where appropriate.
Citizens are to my mind absolutely unecessary builds at this time we already have 5 in waiting.
Galleys are perhaps a sensible build but right now we have large numbers of enemy units at the gates and I feel we need troops more than boats.
There are some reinforcements on the way to olbia and also wines to die for but it would be better to rush build units in those cities rather than risk ferrying them there.
We would have to build galleys in all our core cities for 9 or 10 turns to be in any position to threaten Carthages navy so why bother!!
I think Olbia can hold and with the reinforcements enroute and some rush built troops I think Caralis will soon be ours.
As for wines to die for well again some rushing and some prayers to the gods that the boat nearly there can make it unscathed.
I will be posting some polls soon, please accept my apologies for the delay in starting my time in office.
I would really appreciate Senators looking at the save posted by the former Emporer and pointing out anything that they feel I may have missed, I have not yet ended this first turn but have saved with my changes mentioned here.
