135BC - their turn
Lots of Carthaginian naval movement.
Carthaginian Heavt Cavalry kills Legion on Corsica.
Carthaginian cavalry kills our cavalry outside of Carmona
Celts and Goths engaged in heavy fighting.
Lots of Scythians riders heading for Celtic territory.
Big naval battle south of Corsica. 2 Greek and 2 Carth galleys sunk - others damaged.
130BC - our turn
At Gibia (Corsica), Caesar's Army kills spear.
Elite 4/7 Legion defeats cav
Vet Legion defeats cav - and gets promoted.
Caeser's army defeats cav and takes tile
Numerous unit and worker moves. Includes moving 5 citozens to Spain, as per Senate poll.
Settler to 7888 of Prosperous Meadows.
In Spain ... Heavy Cav dfeats Carth spear near Lilibeo.
We take Gades. Using Legions.
Army recaptures catapults taken last turn.
Do a number of unit and city rushes. Including barracks in Stolen Wines to make way for Forbidden Palace as directed by Senate.
130BC - their turn
Carthaginians land 8 heavy cavalry on northern Corsica, next to Gibia. This is to become quite the battleground.
Scythians moving in large numbers into Celtic territory.
GOTHS AND MACEDONIANS SIGN A MILITARY ALLIANCE AGAINST PERSIA.
Greeks ask for RoP. I decline. (in retrospect - it may have been good to grant this.)
125BC - our turn
Rush the F/P in Stolen Wines.
Wound 2 cavalry outside Gibia and kill one. 5 left.
Move toward Utica in Spain.
Citizens moving to sttle in Macedon. Numerous military unit builds, including garrisons in the core to free up Legions and Heavy Cavalry.
Rush various barracks and military units as prescribed by senate strategy.
125BC - their turn
All 5 cavalry next to Gibia attack the city, and kill themselves.
120BC - our turn
More expansion in Macedonia, with more cities being built.
More military unist built. Workers moving west to Stolen Wines area.
Units ready for assault in Spain.
120BC - their turn
PERSIA AND CARTHAGINIANS HAVE SIGNED AN ALLIANCE AGAINST US. PERSIA DECLARES WAR ON ROME!
Eight more Carthaginian heavy cavalry land next to Gibia. They are also blocking our galleys from getting to Gibia with reinforcements.
The Celtic-Scythian war continues ... and ...
Oh $hit!!!!
SCYTHIA DECLARED WAR AGAINST US. THEY HAVE ALLIED WITH PERSIA.
CELTS AND PERSIANS REACH PEACE AGREEMENT.
The Scythians over-run our workers in the east. I think we lose 3. Silk Meadows falls after the agrrison puts up a stout defence. (Is this the first Roman city to fall. Optimus Betamus hangs his head....) The eastern front was very weakly defended; with a concentration on expansion.
EGYPT WANTS AN ALLIANCE AGAINST THE CELTS. It is too early, and given the Scythian menace, I cannot risk a war on all fronts. I politely decline ...BUT...
EGYPT AGREES TO AN ALIANCE AGAINST PERSIA. Costs us 300 gold. Money very well spent, in this emperor's humble opinion.
115BC - our turn
We capture Utica.
Loaded reinforcements into Corsica as per Senate directions. (There are more units in Aleria waiting for a galley trip over).
We kill a few cavalry units in Corsica.
Rushed granary in Stolen Wines. (note - I had added a citizen to the pop earlier)
Started getting even with the Scythian scum, with the units that were available.
Large cavalry force headed to the eastern front, along with a number of legions.
Eastern city abandoned to keep it from falling into Scythian hands. . A sad day in Roman history.
Build the town of Defiance - uses a citizen and two garrison units which were smack in the middle of a big patch of Scythian units.
115bc - their turn
Carthaginian cavalry self-destructs in Corsica, attacking Caeser's army in Gibia. (deja-vu, all over again)
They also kill a slighly wounded Legion in Spain with a heavy Cavalty. good RNG luck on their part.
Goths and Celts still at war.
SCYTHIA DELARED WAR ON THE EGYPTIANS. What happened to this peaceful world we had???
CELTS AND SCYTHIA HAVE SIGNED A PEACE DEAL. hmmmmm ...this is not good news.
Defiance defenders kill 8 Scythian units before falling, This manoeuvre saves Lake Palmyra.
110BC - our turn
In Spain, commmence assault on Saldae - one spear killed.
Also commence assault on Theveste - one spear killed. Costs us a heavy cavalry.
Betopia founded as per Modo's recommendation in the strategy thread... Brundisam 7888.
Modopia slated for Brundisium 7774. The citizen is on that spot now.
Other citizen also set to build recommended town 774 of Lilibeo.
In Macedonia, I drifted somewhat from the recommendations in attempt to get a good city sperad and claim as much land as we could.
Rushed Legion in Wines to Die For on Cyprus last turn - given the Presian declaration of war. Also landed another Legion and Heavy Cavalry via galley. Persians laned one 3hp cavarly. And the newly rushed Legion loses to it. Arghhh - very poor RNG luck.
Also note that RNS Simon Augusta has set sail from Rome for Cyprus with two Legions, a citizen for 999 of Wines to Die For, and another garrison.
I believe Cyprus is worth fighting for now - as eventually we will be tackling the Persians - our main ooponent in this game - and Cyprus will be a good base of operations.
Many more Scythians killed this turn as the Roman Heavy cvlary arrives. The Scythian threa is subsiding.
More bloodshed on corsica - Carthaginian blood.
And many more rushes - particularly in the east.
And that brings my time as emperor to an end.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Ok - we have gone from 54 garrison units to 81. Many of the new garrison units were usedin the core to free up legions or heavy cav to move to the battlefronts.
We have gone from 13 heavy cav to 24.
And from 35 to 42 Legions. (I thought this would be more - but maybe I am missing something).
There are still 3 citizen units in Beneventum.
Ther is one east of Segusio set to go back and rebuild teh abandoned city.
There are the aforementioned citizens in Spain scheduled for specific sites - and one unallocated citizen in Viroconium.
Despite numerous Elite unit victiries - no leader. Better luck to the next Emperor.
The galley in macedonian waters is headed for Cyprus.
There are numerous units being built this turn.
Also - there are now significant miltary forces in Spain, In Corsica, , in Sicily, and on the Eastern Front vs Scythia.
I believe we should put sufficient forces on Cyprus to hold out against the Persians.
The new second capitol of Stolen Wines is growing nicely - now working on a market place. It can either be rushed - best choice, but there are also lots of workers to harvest the 20 shields in wooods around it. (don't waste the forest shields on a coincidental rush build.)
The worker force has been moving west - and is et to improve the Stolen Wines area.
Also produced and producing warriors form the ex-Carthaginian Spanish cities tio run their pop down a bit. Their are still a couple of cities in resistance.
AND.... the next Emperor may want to see where diplomatic efforts get us. But I leave that up to the polling.
To the next Emperor .....
