  • 205 BC - the reign of Ormus Exussum

The reign of emperor Snoopus Caninus Coolius known also as emperor Dog-Cat is over. He has done great deeds and his name will be remembered forever.

But after 25 years it is again the time to discuss our goals. Two seantors - Modo and Joncnunn have already suggested to rush some improvements in our cities.

We just want to have 1000 gold when the Bacrilla completes for the full 50 free cash per turn.
Any other ideas will be highly appreciated. Once we have some discussions here and I have the time to analyze the situation t I shall start the polls ([ooc]hopefully tomorrow or in Thursday if ny dentist allows me a free day[/ooc]).

Meanwhile - download the save and take a look at it. Or at least read the report of emperor Snoopus Caninus Coolius - one of the best and most detailed reports I have seen so far.

I'm going to throw out a suggestion here - if we pay 1047 gold and a world map to Macedon, we can purchase medicine and monotheism. With those two purchased, we'll never have to do any research again.

They will be cheaper later on, and we dont need them right now. But dont do research now, buy cheaper later.

Buy technology? May I remind you, that we will be conquering those guys? We should be able to extort. And I agree we don't need those technologies at the moment.

The cash seems better invested in rushes.

I hope the Emperor doesn't mind me bringing up this obvious point: We need more units in the north-east. The cities there are only defended by a light crew of Garrisons and Archers. That is not enough in case of an attack, and the neighbourhood is dangerous. Fortunately, the Celts have take on most of the barbarians that declared war on us, but I don't think we should count on that to last.
        Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

I have seen our military is too small and I'm thinking what and how to organize the current forces and the city production

Were under Imperalism, a spare 1000 gold can easily rush enough Legionary IIIs & Heavy Calvary in the North East to defend the whole area with a few turns warning given standard AI tactics. (The amount will need to increase when we get close to the Bacrilla finishing.) I'd recomend building Baracks as a priority everywhere to ensure the rushed troops are Vets.

Check to see if Persia and/or Egypt has those techs as well, as it spreads the price will come down.

I agree with the turning reserach off in principle, but haven't checked to ensure that we aren't commited to researching the current tech choice yet.

Edit: I've looked at the turn, switch it off. That 10% reserach is useless, and we've spent very little towards it. (0% + 1 Scientist results in 35 turns for it compared to the full 40 for the other one)
This results in increasing our gold to +242.

Of course it will be heard. Everyone's suggestions are welcome and that is the goal of the game - to involve as many people as possible

These is the summary of my reign:

                            205 BC
Lilibeo captured, no losses but our army and cavalry were exhausted and needed some rest.
Army of Caesar Augustus moved to attack Olbia
                            Science set to 0

Persia and Scythia signed alliance and declared war on us

                            200 BC
                            Viroconium and Lugdunum founded
Destroyed the Carthagians who landed near Neapolis. This was like an alarm for me. I have decided to leave some troops to defend our core cities because they were almost empty from any troops.
Started rushing trpoops and city improvements - Harbor in Noviodunum, Spearman in Vesontio, Garrisons in Rusicade and Lilibeo, Courthouses in Optima Forma, Lost Dreams, Beneventum, Massilia and Marsala

                            195 BC
                            Brundisium founded
Olbia captured from the glorious army of Caesar Augustus. The army was exhausted and needed some deserved rest.
Bought World map from the celts for our world map and 12 gold cash and sold it the macedonians for 29 gold and their world map

                            190 BC
Completed Heroic Epic in Ancona. The army of trajan along with the captured catapult and some legions started the offensive against the next Carthagian colony in Iberia - Carthago Novo.

Silk Meadow expanded because of its culture and the roman empire aquired one more luxury. This allowed us to start work oevr the Bacchalia and it will be completed in 8 turns in Rome.

                            185 BC
Carthagians started counter attack against Olbia. Two cavalries were destroyed and one fled just before to be defeated. They have attacked us with a swordsman band which has fallen a victim to the glorious Ceasar Augustus.

We have signed a peace treaty with the Gothes. They have revealed their knowledge about the world and we paid them 23 gold. After this we have traded the world map of the celts and sold our to them, to the macedonians and to the goths for 220 gold total.

More courthouses were rushed in our distant cities.

                            180 BC
The carthagians unloaded more troops near Olbia.

Just a note - the next emperor should start a discussion about a possible peace treaty with the carthagians - we can get their world map and the medicine for some gold. Maybe after we capture Carthago Novo they will not want gold.
