Well six people have voted for getting drunk with Paddy so I hope he has enough room in his place down under

I thank Emperor Conius for submitting this motion of censure to the Senate Floor, when he clearly has other matters of great import at hand to decide.
As has been stated already several times, the matter of a censure is a serious matter indeed for the Senate to consider. I would therefore suggest, good Senators, that irresponsible responses that include the words "banana" or "drinking" should be ignored completely, and the result of the motion be determined by the "yea's" against the "nay's".
Any other interpretation or methodology would make a laughing stock of the Roman Senate!
I further request that before Senators cast their vote, they consider very carefully the arguments that have been put forth, and the arrogant attitude that former emperor Modo has displayed in this very hall, and indeed the disdain he has shown for the moral advice given to him by his fellow Senators when asked to reconsider his indefatigable position!

But where I come from, it is not a custom to take every not-so-serious statement as a "grave insult", as Senator Aqualung so nicely put it. A bit touchy, the people Down Under, methinks.
This argument has been done to death already Modo, and the consensus of the Senate is that you are wrong and that you have caused offence. How you can consider, in any language, that the expression "courage is not one of your virtues" can be considered a "not-so-serious statement" is beyond me, and beyond most of the Senators who have addressed the issue so far.
You are digging yourself a deeper hole, Modo. Perhaps you should instead climb out, apologise for the slight you have caused, and put an end to this distasteful and unbecoming spectacle. Your continued intransigence is demonstrating to the world at large that the Roman Empire is no better than the barbarian races that surround it, in its lack of civility and nobility at the highest levels. You are bringing disrepute onto the good name of Rome, and I for one as a former Emperor of this glorious nation, shall not stand for it

I hope that everyone understands that this is a bit of role playing. This is a motion of censure for our little roman senate here. This is not to be taken as some sort of official Apolyton censure, nor an attack on Modo44 (if that is his real name).

Like I said before, me and Aqualung started the whole thing more like a roleplay, so no offense is taken. Party on.
The actual name is Andrew.

Ahh, by no means would I dare imply that. I was only referring to the different ways people are brought up in different parts of Rome.
Where I come from, people often use loud language and something others call an insult, we call a joke and be done with it. When we mean harm, we stop talking and take action, which is not what happened here, as you know. Unfortunately, not all Roman Citizens can move their pride aside for the good of our great nation, therefore this whole censorship mess.

Yes it does seem that lesser things can cause censure than when I was a justice.

Well right now getting drunk with Paddy seems to be solidly in the lead.
Hopefully that hasn't resulted in a sort of reverse popularity poll.
Although I must say if I ever get down to OZ getting drunk with Paddy will be on the "things to do list".

Ahh, perhaps I do speak a different language then.
