This be the days of our Mighty Emperor Conius.
At the direction of my Uncle, Senator Paddy the Scot, I have set out from Rome with a small but well traveled party for our new Roman possessions on the far side of the land of the Celts.
In days of Emperor Aquavian Lungarius, the Celtic King Brennus gave up to Rome two small and distant towns as an offering of peace and surety to the Homage and Glory that is Rome.
These towns, Noviodunum and Vesontio represent a new time in our Empire, for now we actually have satellite settlements with another nation right across our supply roads.
Adding to this we have very little information of what lies on the other side of these lands.
My Uncle has entrusted my team to scout these lands, make contact with various community leaders, and look at ways to make these towns safe and strong for the Glory of Rome.
I carry with me parchments and scrolls with the seal of the Senate, allowing us a certain level of assistance should we require it.
My traveling companions have been selected from a close group, including my cousin Roscoe the Scot, along with my old friends, Davius and Auggie. There is also Drangoe, a former Centurion who served with Uncle Paddy in the Legion back when they were both so much younger. Drangoe is a vicious old soul, who loves our family, and has served with distinction many times. He has been a great teacher of the ways of the sword, and the many ways to drink ale, and I am blessed to have his sword arm along for this adventure into the badlands.
My elder sister Christine and several of her friends are traveling with us. Amongst my sister’s friends is the ever beautiful Ginzea, a true blessing to my eyes. Now that the war with the Celts has been brought to a halt, the girls are traveling to visit with Aunt Michelle’s family. We will take a small detour into their area ad see she arrives safely.
Along with these people we have a small caravan of craftsmen, who have been commissioned to erect a monument to Emperor Aquavian Lungarius, for expanding our Empire into these new and exciting ands.
Uncle Paddy has also sent along Centurion Hallius and fifty five of Legionnaires of Legio I Italica. Fine lads to be having along on any journey into such lands.
